Does anyone know much about the fellowships? I have applied for one and am hoping to get it. Is it additional money to the scholarship I received?

If they're just waiting for fall grades then some of us should see movement soon... She said, wishfully...Nucky wrote:May I take your coat?Elegavie wrote:Joining the Hold for Further Review party.

Question: I got the acceptance email, but my status checker has not been updated. Should I be worried?

I was explicitly asked for fall grades and told I'd have a decision shortly after.PattyCake wrote:If they're just waiting for fall grades then some of us should see movement soon... She said, wishfully...Nucky wrote:May I take your coat?Elegavie wrote:Joining the Hold for Further Review party.

I don't see why you should be... My status checker didn't change after my acceptance, but then again, status checker is basically irrelevant once you know your ultimate statusstillswimming72 wrote:Question: I got the acceptance email, but my status checker has not been updated. To those who were accepted and received their admission packet, how long did it take for that to arrive once you heard the good news? I got my acceptance e-mail yesterday and am really looking forward to my first admission packet!

Called admissions to ask about the "Hold for Further Reviews" status. W&M does not have rolling admissions. Applications with that status have been initially reviewed (and, obviously, not rejected), but they are not actively under consideration. Files will only be looked at again if you submit new materials (Feb scores, first semester grades, etc.). The review process will begin after the March 1 deadline (sometimes possibly a bit sooner), and decisions will begin going out sometime around 3/15 or 4/1. So if you have that status don't expect any movement until March/April.Attax wrote:I was explicitly asked for fall grades and told I'd have a decision shortly after.PattyCake wrote:If they're just waiting for fall grades then some of us should see movement soon... P.S. W&M's admissions staff is the nicest I've spoken with, except possibly for WUSTL.

Good to know. They have been nice. Texas has been super nice to me as well, but W&M have done everything to make the admissions process super easy for me.
But I'm not under "Hold for Further Reviews" I'm still "Under Review." In an email they explicitly asked for my fall grades before releasing a decision.

It depends on how close you are to VA. Mine came (to a NC address) in about four days; if you're further, it may take a bit longer. I'd say within a week though.PAGator2014 wrote:To those who were accepted and received their admission packet, how long did it take for that to arrive once you heard the good news? Thanks! I've been away from TLS for a while, so I'm trying to catch up. I can't complain about my cycle so far, although I would really like to hear back from at least one reach school.gbelle wrote:ZGr88n wrote:Checking in!

Anyone know if W&M offers travel stipends for campus visits?

Received my admissions packet today, I haven't got to see it yet, but my grandpa opened it already, and it contained $, in-state tuition, and a graduate fellowship!

Congrats to the new admits!
So, without the intention of opening a can of worms, how much are you guys willing to pay for W&M? The "choosing a law school" section and really most of the advice you get on TLS is very much slanted towards the T14, regional for super cheap, or don't go category. I'm curious to see what the applicants themselves have to say.

I would need nearly a full ride most likely... I really like the school, but if I am going to attend here rather than a higher ranked school, it would need to be cheap.AT9 wrote:Congrats to the new admits!

I was offered a half ride and my wife will be working (so hopefully little COL), meaning it'd be around $50-$60k. I'd seriously consider it if I could negotiate them down to the $40-$50k range.WestWingWatcher wrote:I would need nearly a full ride most likely... Did anyone else get a fellowship? Mine is about 30/yr with a work stipend.

I'm not sure... I wrote an essay for the one related to elections... Did your acceptance to the fellowship come in your acceptance letter? I got the email, but my actual letter was sent to my parents address, and they are out of state right now.monsterman wrote:Did anyone else get a fellowship? Mine is about 30/yr with a work stipend.
