JS has certainly been frank that the earliness of an application is a boon to the applicant.Dr. Dre wrote:anyone else not recommend applying january?

I would love to apply on sept 15. I have everything — letters, transcripts in, essays. But I also have a <25 percentile LSAT score which is more important than anything else, and with my retake in December, feel like it makes more sense to send in a complete app in January.

Spivey and a lot of folks I've spoken to have remarked that applying early is not nearly the advantage it seems like. Before mid-January you should be fine. Higher hard numbers are always the way to go.

When was the earliest that people were hearing about being invited to interview?

Technically it was Oct. 31st, but only 3 TLSers got invites that day. The large batch came two days later like you said. I mention it so nobody freaks out if they don't get invites on the first day.The-Specs wrote:Looks like last year the first round of invites went out on Nov. 2, 2012.Innovative wrote:When was the earliest that people were hearing about being invited to interview?

Does this include Highschool/middle school suspensions? I never thought about my youthful indiscretions coming back someday. At any educational institution, have you ever been found responsible for behavioral misconduct that resulted in anything more than a verbal reprimand or are any charges pending?

I'm not sure what to do about the Writing section. I've written a ton of papers, but none of them seem to be the type that they're asking about. Suggestions? Just put that it doesn't apply to me or something else?

I'm just putting my senior thesis. i don't think the run of the mill class paper is worth the space.

Would it be appropriate to describe a work-in-progress there? Other than my senior thesis that I'm currently working on, I don't have anything longer than a term paper.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Didn't have a senior thesis or capstone or anything like that. I just mentioned one of the longer research paper finals I wrote... never came up in JS1 and I got in, so I wouldn't sweat this question. Just write something.lastsamurai wrote:I'm not sure what to do about the Writing section. I've written a ton of papers, but none of them seem to be the type that they're asking about. Suggestions?
