Waitlisted via email. I thought I had about a 1/3 shot despite my poor GPA, so a little disappointed. Certainly not surprised overall though. Ah well, time to start sending out some applications it seems! Congrats to all who got accepted so far!

Question. The last thing I had was that big paragraph that said something like "We have everything necessary for your file to be complete. The next stage is the review process".
Is that all there is? Or does it actually change to something saying "Under Review"?

Yes, a few of us have. Generally it seems that they give you the choice between call/skype.

I was surprised at the phone interview request. Considering I'm not ED and I just submitted my app around 1.5 weeks ago.

Do they do this for most?

1L here. Good luck you guys! I applied ED last year, and couldn't have picked a better place . The people here are the perfect mix of talented, collegial, and intelligent - and the faculty in my experience at least, really care about TEACHING, which is awesome! Some tips for applying: absolutely do the Why Virginia - consider this semi-mandatory! Additionally, the admissions team are very receptive - they really want people who really want to come to Virginia, so if you find yourself WL'ed I would recommend personally calling them and explaining how much you want to attend, you may not get off the WL just yet b/c of how early it is in the cycle, but TONS my cycle got off the WL in late July.... just be persistent! In terms of ED, don't be afraid that you won't get $$$, Frankly, I felt that I got as much, if not more, than I would have had I applied RD. Additionally, ED definitely gives a strong admissions boost IMO. Lastly, I found the process of moving, to be rather hectic, so the earlier you commit, the quicker you can snag those good apartments. I did write a "Why UVA" addenda... but I also heard of people who got interviews without writing one. The interview does seem to be "new" this cycle form what I have gathered...
