Thanks for this.NapoleonXV wrote:DO NOT CALL THEM.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:You mean that you went complete after 20 days, right? ETA: How long did it take most people to have their application acknowledged by Columbia?
I applied on Sept. 1, so 20 days for me
Should I give them a call?
google Columbia Status Checker, enter your name, date of birth, and Lsac number, and you can check it yourself.

Anyone know what the deal is with Columbia and study abroad transcripts? I did not submit my study abroad transcript and my app went complete a while ago. A friend of mine just got an email that his application is incomplete because he didn't supply a study abroad transcript. We both studied abroad for a single semester. Now I'm worried someone just didn't realize I'm missing that on my app.

Do you and your friend go to the same school? Does your school include your study abroad grades on your transcript? When I applied, I didn't have to supply a separate transcript because my school included my grades in my transcript.flippacious wrote:Anyone know what the deal is with Columbia and study abroad transcripts? My friend and I go to the same school, and the abroad grades are not included on either of our transcripts. I feel like I was supposed to supply the abroad transcript (oops), but someone just hasn't noticed that I didn't. My plan right now is just to get the transcript all set up with the LSAC so I'm ready if/when Columbia notices they don't have it. I still think it's weird, though.subtle wrote:Do you and your friend go to the same school? Does your school include your study abroad grades on your transcript? Nope, it doesn't. It just lists the credits on the transcript.subtle wrote:Does your school count your study abroad grades in your GPA?flippacious wrote:My friend and I go to the same school, and the abroad grades are not included on either of our transcripts. Checking innn!
Just did my first LSAT practice test, and it looks like I have a good chance of getting 170+, so I don't feel like this is a total pipe dream anymore.
I just read through the thread and saw a call for URM's. Is there any info/anecdotes on how important this is to Columbia? Also quick Q for the URM's out there. Did you submit a diversity statement and a personal statement? I'm a bit late to the game, so am only getting started figuring all this out.

If your grades are listed on your transcript and they're not counted in your GPA there is a really good chance that you don't need to send a separate transcript. I didn't, and I was fine. By all means, if the school requests it, you should send it.

Was just reading through some of last year's Columbia thread, and Columbia was the last of the bunch to start releasing RD decisions (January 25th-26th). It's gonna be a long ride...

Well we won't be seeing you at Columbia because you applied ED to NYU, but 3.42/179 is a lock at both places.Max324 wrote:Checking in. My app is pretty marginal (3.42 from a low ranked SUNY, 172 with 179 retake) so I'm not liking my chances. Still, no harm in trying, right? Applied ED to NYU but would love Columbia too. Good luck everyone!

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Idk man. Id be hard pressed to say "lock." Lots of high 170s/sub-3.5 were hit with reserve last year. NoodleyOne got WL at CLS with 179 and a stronger gpa (3.5+). Decent chance especially off of reserve, but far from lock.Max324 wrote:Think so? I figured Columbia probably wasn't going to happen with my numbers.Tiago Splitter wrote:Well we won't be seeing you at Columbia because you applied ED to NYU, but 3.42/179 is a lock at both places.Max324 wrote:Checking in. That being said, I would have RD'd to both.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
