I think if I don't get in off any other wait lists I may wait and reapply next year. Did a visit to NW and the school I was planning on depositing at and I just couldn't stomach it. NW is my end all, which is also very dangerous. Slightly regretting it as I type...suzige wrote:Same here.emaliefaythe wrote:Part of me feels like they are just going to waitlist us all. And then there will be more waiting, because really after all this time, I would almost feel lonely without the anxiety.
All at once I feel like if that is what they were going to do, they would have done it forever ago, because how hard would it be to pump that out? And that gives me hope. Which is a dangerous dangerous thing.
Northwestern is my first choice, hands down, but I did deposit at another school and have started to tell people that is where I will be living come September. So. Yeah. It’d be really nice to know.

I really enjoyed Northwestern when I visited for my hold interview and had a blast in Chicago. I also realize that it's my best shot at T14 but really I think I'd love to be there in spite of my lack of work experience. Think it's too late for a LOCI?

I already submitted one along with essays and an updated resume etc. But I heard some people did multiple LOCIs and was also wondering if it was too late to submit another.DaRascal wrote:I really enjoyed Northwestern when I visited for my hold interview and had a blast in Chicago. I say go for it. (In my very non-expert opinion) what's the worst they can say: Obviously this person wants it wayyyy too much. Denied.Letzgo1Gen wrote:I already submitted one along with essays and an updated resume etc. But I heard some people did multiple LOCIs and was also wondering if it was too late to submit another.DaRascal wrote:I really enjoyed Northwestern when I visited for my hold interview and had a blast in Chicago. I also submitted one about three months ago but I don't want it to appear like I'm sending another one just because a decision is looming. I do genuinely love NU!Letzgo1Gen wrote:I already submitted one along with essays and an updated resume etc. But I heard some people did multiple LOCIs and was also wondering if it was too late to submit another.DaRascal wrote:I really enjoyed Northwestern when I visited for my hold interview and had a blast in Chicago. Same. I don't want to bombard them with redundant crap that they hate having to read thru.DaRascal wrote:I also submitted one about three months ago but I don't want it to appear like I'm sending another one just because a decision is looming. I feel ya. God I want this... I wish they could measure desire and work ethic and take that into account quantitatively.

I'm assuming (I've been doing a lot of that recently) that Johann was kidding when he said the vast majority of hold decisions would go out this week. blurg.

Just thinking this too. From the looks of it online (which doesn't say much, I admit) not that many on hold got word from them.emaliefaythe wrote:I'm assuming (I've been doing a lot of that recently) that Johann was kidding when he said the vast majority of hold decisions would go out this week. blurg.

I don't think so. Looking at old threads that would be my assumption.suzige wrote:Definitely.Letzgo1Gen wrote:That's a pretty sick sense of humor.suzige wrote:Just thinking this too. All I can hope for is 1) I'm wait listed and 2) others are more impatient than I and withdraw (no offense my eager friends).

Does NW even have a proper waitlist or everyone just gets held?

There is a waitlist, so it's possible that we end up going hold -> waitlistomegaomega wrote:Does NW even have a proper waitlist or everyone just gets held?

I don't see why they don't just WL all of us and sort through everyone later. We'd feel better about hearing something and there would probably be fewer exasperated withdrawals.
