I'm still furiously checking my status checker. Apparently last year there was a glitch and some people saw movement on the checker before they were called.

And I'm pretty sure the IT guys at UVA will hate me once all of you people crash their servers.

Wouldn't it be funny if admissions could see how many times people have logged in? Add a desperation factor to the application? Application gets a (plus) if more then 10 checks per day.

I guess I've been viewing this wrong. I've been checking, but it makes me feel guilty. "Don't wanna look too THURSTAY!"
Although, for real UVA, you are above and beyond my number one choice.

In the 2009-10 application year, we received 8,560 applications (7,882 nonresident and 678 Virginia resident)
As a public law school, 40 percent of the places in our student body are historically reserved for residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
They say no, but I don't believe them.

It's a boost in that there is less competition for spots. AT LEAST 40% of the class is reserved for in-state students. So Out-of-State applicants are fighting for 60% of the spots but In-State applicants can be admitted to any of the spots.
So 7,882 for 60% of 380.
678 for 40% of 380 PLUS overflow into the 60% above.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Did you ED? I saw that you got wait-listed at Duke (sorry to hear that).

I was hoping that they would start rolling out some decisions because they missed my invaluable contribution to the conversation. They called my bluff.

Yea...today is unofficial day 14 for me (though its only been 8 days since they received it)...Monday = the 11th day (unofficially 17 though). For some reason, this cycle's ED turnaround seems to be going slower than last year's.

They might be worried about the decrease in applicants and be waiting until they have a better idea about the applicant pool.
Also the 15 days might be business days too. They don't specify.
Also also I blame your bones jazz for the wait.

Pretty sure its just 15 days since Duke's is very similar and is just 10 days. I'm holding out on Monday now since a Monday acceptance call would be the greatest birthday present I've ever gotten (a WL/rejection would not be the worst birthday ever, so its all cool!). Friday is the last day for my ED wait.
