Is it normal for them to have not received recommendations immediately? Every other school I received a status checker for had them confirmed on initial check.

They received mine right away. Maybe give them a week or so and then call them.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I told them to wait for 3 (even though all three are already registered in LSAC).

Did you assign all three to be sent to Columbia? Check in your LSAC account. Somewhere in there it should say something along the lines of "assign LORs". Go there and make sure they are all set to Columbia.

Sorry for the vagueness, hope it helps.

Yeah, it says they've all been sent. I'm not worried about it. I'll give them a call in a week or so if they don't show up.

Question, since this is my top realistic choice...

Is it normal for them to not contact you after you've submitted? I submitted a week ago, along with six other apps. I've received notice of receipt and status checkers from all of them. I haven't heard a peep from Columbia. I know their status checker is a joke, but is it normal not to hear *anything*?

I applied 10/27, and got an email when I went complete on 10/31. No email whatsoever about status checking. It might just be taking them time to complete the app.

Wasn't planning on applying to Columbia as I have very little chance of getting accepted, but they send me a fee waiver today. $20 is definitely worth a shot, I suppose. I'm below their 25th percentile LSAT so I hope I don't get auto-dinged...

Working on applying and saw that for LORs if you're working full-time they require one of your LORs to be from current employer? That's gonna be an awkward conversation with them...

Interesting that it never occurred to me to ask about this. I just assumed they didn't have a status checker.

Hi everyone--quick and probably dumb question. When questions don't apply to you on the application form, like you've never been in the military but it asks for details of your service, can you leave those blank, or do you have to put N/A, etc.?

Hope everyone's having a good Friday, help much appreciated as always.

i leave them blank, since at least for the military one you just click "no" and then can leave the page. I could very well be doing that wrong, though...

okay also re: this (yeah i'm quoting myself....it's late), I just started working for this company in august. i don't feel that any of my supervisors know me well enough to write a LOR and I'm pretty sure that since i'm so new they wouldn't be exactly pleased to do so. I worked in a different department two years ago for a year and my supervisor over there loved me. could I use that supervisor? it's the same company and can speak to my skills/strengths. what do you guys think?

Yeah, same here. I just cast a very wide net with my apps. Plus, many of the schools gave out fee waivers and I couldn't say no to that! Is Columbia your top choice?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
