Has anyone had success negotiating aid? This is definitely my weakest offer so far ($35k from both Cardozo and Brooklyn, $7.5k from Temple) but it's among my top choices. I see other people have been getting disappointing offers, too, so surely someone has tried negotiation?

I was going to wait to hear about aid offers from some higher ranked schools before negotiating, unless people had some great success stories.

1st complete 12/19, 2nd complete 1/21, admitted 1/23 with scholly offer in the mail about a week later.

They asked me to write a one to two page essay on why i want to attend Temple and what I will bring to the Temple community to raise my scholly from 3750 a year to 12500 a year...I am going to write it but i have full tuition offers from Villanova, Cardozo, and Washington and Lee so I don't know hopw much I would be willing to pay for Temple

Idk if the Drexel offer is really going to help you out too much, considering theyre reputation isn't exactly on the same level as Temple. There would be no hurt in trying. In all of the negotiations I have attempted I have written emails, and I've been fairly successful. Do you have offers from schools that are peer schools?

I guess I do, I have a scholarship offer from Catholic U. With that scholarship though, it's still more expensive than Temple in-state. I assumed that Drexel would be better leverage because it's in the same city and would be cheaper for me.

I basically thanked them fro my acceptence and said i was honored to be awarded any scholarship money at all listed the reasons i wanted to attend Temple but also let them know that financial considerations would play a large part in my decision.

I went complete on 2/2, then the status changed on Monday. I was still 'Complete' until the status checker updated this morning to admitted. I would think that the status date updating is an indicator that your decision is coming soon.

I got my package in the mail today and was offered 3750 per year, top half stip. Is it worth it to contact them for potentially more $? If so, should it be via e-mail or phone?

My numbers are a 163/3.65 UG, with a 4.0 from Penn for my Ed master's. Soft factors include TFA, first generation college kid. I have some offers from schools (Penn state, Washington and Lee, Drexel, URichmond) upwards of 20k per year but obviously they're more expensive. Should I mention any of these?

I'm also in at Nova and waiting to hear about aid...

Any advice you guys could offer would be great - I applied late in the cycle but I really want to go to Temple!

Thanks, I just didn't know if anyone knew of anything that should be done differently because it's latein the cycle, like whether to call vs. email. Also, one thing I couldn't find - what's the average turn around time when you write an email?

Calling or e-mail will both work fine. The only issue I think you will have is that our requests were responded with write an essay and maybe you will get more money and the essay due date was on the 17th I believe. When I wrote Temple, she got back to me the same day and let me know that she would look into it. The next week she let me know what her decision was.
