Re: Georgia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My acceptance letter specifically stated that I would be paying the out of state rate for the first year, which kinda makes sense since I'm exactly at both medians from last year. I was hoping for the in-state equalization deal since I really like Athens, but not having it will likely be a deal breaker for me and UGA

IIRC, and this was in 2010 so it may no longer be this way (but they don't seem to have changed), my acceptance letter said that, too. I still got in-state equalization a few weeks later.hookem7 wrote:My acceptance letter specifically stated that I would be paying the out of state rate for the first year, which kinda makes sense since I'm exactly at both medians from last year. Also, people in the past have been very successful in asking for in-state equalization and getting it for at least one semester.

Re: Georgia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My understanding from the last few years' threads is that they just like to mix it up and send scholly offers at different times. They also apparently go back through their admitted applicants and offer more money at various times throughout the cycle. A number of folks got in and got scholarship letters with their acceptance letters in the November wave of acceptances, and then again in the early December wave. The folks who have been getting in since Winter Break began haven't talked as much about scholarship offers, until the last few days in this thread, so I'm guessing the UGA admissions people have just started firing up the money stuff again now that we're past New Year's.cutecarmel wrote:What are your numbers?
I'm wondering whether those of us who didn't get scholarships in our acceptance letter just are not going to get them, or if the recently accepted applicants are getting scholarships with their's because Georgia is just now starting to send out scholarship info.
Bottom line: if you haven't gotten an offer with your acceptance letter, you may very well get one later.

Same thing with me. Got bored one day and checked and I was in. I had no clue when they actually accepted me, but it was good news. You should get the admissions letter in a few weeks

In at Georgia as of 12/21 (just 10 days after I completed the app).
I got a letter for the instate tuition with my acceptance letter which came a week or so after the acceptance email. I'm still hoping for a little more financial assistance but I really like what I've been seeing about UGA.
Good luck everyone!
PS For anyone who cares my stats are:
LSAT: 171
GPA: 3.3 (although LSAC is counting one semester that I was hospitalized and got a 1.98 that never was included in my degree. According to my degree granting institution I have a 3.56 but I don't know how many schools strongly consider that)

I received no initial scholly offer with my admittance. Would now be too early to try to negotiate? I have leverage from some better ranked schools and UGA is where I want to end up.

Yea....it might kind of odd to say "I don't know how much your going to give me, but I'm going to need more if you want me at your school". Just wait on the scholarship info to come in. I think it could hurt you to do any premature negotiating...you might piss them off and end up with nothing, so I wouldn't risk it.

I never got an acceptance letter but was admitted a while ago via status checker. I've had some trouble getting stuff delivered to the address that's listed as my primary address (I found out via emails from the admissions offices of 2 other schools that mail they had sent was returned to them), should I call/email UGA and ask about it? Really curious about scholarship info, I guess they only disclose it via letter?

I got in via status checker, then got the acceptance email, then recieved the email letting me know I can check my app status via their website. I am also waiting for my official letter to see the scholly info. I suggest waiting for a week or so to see if it arrives and if not then call. Im sure the letter is on its way.

3.71 & 160... any chance. Just submitted today. Don't want to get my hopes up. Any thoughts from those already accepted, denied, etc.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm right there with ya. 3.6, 160. Chances are probably not good, but not impossible either.Benjamin1987 wrote:3.71 & 160... any chance. Just submitted today. Don't want to get my hopes up. Any thoughts from those already accepted, denied, etc.

I was accepted back in November and accidentally clicked "skip" next to the ASW event and now can't seem to find information on it anywhere. It was a meeting in Atlanta I believe? Anyone have any information on when this is?
EDIT Nevermind I was able to find it. Dumb me.

UGA was the first school I got into, how long has it been for you? I'm wondering also because I've had trouble getting letters delivered to my apartment from a few other schools already, would hate to somehow miss my acceptance/scholarship info entirely from UGA.Tyeger87 wrote:westinghouse60 wrote:I never got an acceptance letter but was admitted a while ago via status checker. Last year my friend told me it was at King & Spalding in Atlanta. I have no clue if it will be there again this year or if it will be elsewhere. Online it merely states that it will be a Reception in early March and that formal invitations will be sent to admitted students.Tyeger87 wrote:where is this event? i have not seen itBKCentral wrote:I was accepted back in November and accidentally clicked "skip" next to the ASW event and now can't seem to find information on it anywhere.
