Dang! Why does my mail come so late??? I'm closer than FL or PA.

Today is the latest Saturday delivery of regular mail I can remember...

My mail consistently came between noon and 1pm for about 3 years (ever since I moved here). And, then last year they moved all the routes around, and now I'm lucky if I have mail before 5pm.

Should I put anything for the "factors influencing GPA" section? I feel stupid leaving it blank since I have a only ~3.4 overall with a very strong upward grade trend, but the only reason for poor performance early on was not taking ADD medication/lack of motivation overall.

I don't plan on submitting any GPA addenda anywhere else, though I hate to say, yep, 3.4 totally reflects my performance.

Talk about overcoming ADD. Talk about how you got a grasp on it and it led to better performance later on, which is more indicative of your ability to succeed in law school.

I would do that too. Focus on that over the lack of motivation thing. Also the consensus seems to be to keep it on the shorter side.

No, but it doesn't surprise me have such things. My friend got a scholarship dependent upon him first getting a year of we (which no surprise was from nu)

Most schools just have GPA stips. I have not heard of other schools doing something like this.

I know this isn't all too uncommon in undergrad. I just haven't heard of other law schools doing so.

I am confused because I applied for a fellowship and didn't get it but it, sounds like you didn't apply for a fellowship and got one (I am assuming you would know what it was if you had applied). I got a merit scholarship, though. Call me greedy, but I would have liked both...

I obviously can't speak for Hopefully2012, but I know my particular fellowship was one specifically for out of state kids that brings tuition down to in-state, which was then complemented by some scholarship money. It wasn't one that you could apply for, and if I became a Virginia resident, I would lose it.

Plus the in-state tuition perk. Doesn't seem that bad to me, since it seems that it would lead to good opportunities for relationships with faculty members.

I wonder if you will receive weekly compensation for the actual work, in addition to the scholly; or is the scholarship alone considered to be the payment? I agree that the work would be a good opportunity. I'm still waiting on my packet, but I actually hope that I have the work stipulation attached to it.
Did anyone from the first round of acceptances not receive a scholly? I'm still nervous that I won't get one.

I didn't receive one, but from what I've read, I'm in the extreme minority (translated: I am literally the only one).

1. From your point of view, how's the employment outlook at W&M? Are people faring relatively well, or is there an ominous feeling of impending doom looming over everyone?

2. I know you haven't gone through OCI, but, from what you've heard, how insular are the Virginia legal markets? (i.e. how much do employers dislike OOS students?)

I was accepted to William and Mary, with a pretty nice scholarship; still have to hear back from the rest of my schools, including the Ivy's. Is it possible to negotiate scholarships at all with a school (specifically William and Mary)? How do I go about saying "give me more" without sounding like a horrible person?

It's possible with a better offer from a peer school or a higher ranked school.
