No, still on hold with a 167, IS. I'm pretty sure I'm going to withdraw this week anyway.

Re: Georgia State University - 2011 Applicants
Been in review since 1/27/11. No changes/updates
On 2/25 I called admissions office and left a message. A few hours later my call was returned - a very nice lady informed me that my app was still under review and I should hang in there. I told her an attorney I work with told me a horror story about his app being lost one time, and if he didn't show up to the dean's office right before orientation, he would have never known he was accepted! (they misplaced his app) She appreciated the due diligence and said final decisions would be out by May !
158/2.7 - I guess the fact they haven't rejected me yet shows how strong my softs are...

When does information about scholarships go out? Is it in the decision letter?

Yeah it definitely is looking like i'll have to take out some PLUS loans. They are saying the cost of attendance is just shy of 30K. Tuition is rising so fast. It seems like it was right over 10K a year last year, and now its 14,500.g-children wrote:You should be able to log in online and see. I just checked mine and saw my award information. Yeah, you are right. Fed loans are like 10k a semester but tuition n fees are about 7k+ a semester. Its def getting much more expensive. A friend of mine is an undergrad there and she said that you can lock in your tuition rate for 3 years as an undergrad, wonder if they have that for law school. That way we can be sure it wont go up anymore.uwgbluedevil wrote: Yeah it definitely is looking like i'll have to take out some PLUS loans. They are saying the cost of attendance is just shy of 30K. By online do you mean on the Status Checker? I just looked at mine and don't see any scholarship or loan info. I figure I should at least have one or the other if that's where to look.g-children wrote:You should be able to log in online and see. I just checked mine and saw my award information. No, it says law students are not eligible for tuition being locked in. So at this rate of increase, we could be paying 20K a year in tuition and fees by 3L. it really sucks.g-children wrote:Yeah, you are right. I was told to expect tuition to go up a few hundred dollars every year. The rationale was to raise money for the new building, but who knows if that's true.

If that's GSU's reason, I wonder what the rationale for Board of Regents doing it to EVERY other Georgia public university is.....mgbp0 wrote:I was told to expect tuition to go up a few hundred dollars every year. The rationale was to raise money for the new building, but who knows if that's true.

No, when you get admitted, they send you a letter in the mail with instructions on how to set up your PAWS account & email. The scholarship/financial aid info is under the "one-stop shop" tab on your PAWS account.gtjackets530 wrote:By online do you mean on the Status Checker? Hm how long after you send the application do you get an email with a status checker login info? I've received an email saying my application was received but no status checker yet.. I sent in the app around the beginning of the month. I want to go to that admitted students orientation... but can't, since I don't know if I'm admitted yet haha. *crossing fingers still*

Anyone heard anything recently. GSU is my first choice and I am still "Complete" I sent a LOCI... I just hope I dont get overlooked since it is so late in the game. One point shy of the Median LSAT and Right below 75th for GPA
Anyone have any recommendations for ways to get the ball rolling?

Re: Georgia State University - 2011 Applicants
I went for a visit this past Friday and while I was accepted fairly quickly back in February, the tour guide (a 2L) addressed another kid's question about "getting the ball rolling," and said that he recommended calling the admissions office and requesting to speak with a member of the admissions committee to discuss anything you might feel necessary in your file or even just to show your continued interest.clemson09 wrote:Anyone heard anything recently. If you have been accepted, you should have gotten an email from dsteele today about how to activate your campus id and password and email. once its activated, you can log into your account and see award information about loans.gtjackets530 wrote: By online do you mean on the Status Checker? Anyone else waiting for a second review? Ga State is turning into a top choice, or at least a significant rival to Miami, even with 24k.

I've already made up my mind I'm going to GSU and picked out a place in midtown, now all I have to do is get pass the second review. It's such a stressful position to be in.Intraining wrote:Anyone else waiting for a second review? Ga State is turning into a top choice, or at least a significant rival to Miami, even with 24k.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
