Great, we can all get together and play euchre. Maybe we'll have some milkshakes and fries!masterthearts wrote:I guess you!thelaststraw05 wrote:Who is organizing the TLS meetup?
No, really. Who wants to meet up on Friday afternoon and get a couple of drinks? Anyone know a good bar near there?

Cold. Random snow showers. Not Minnesota or Boston, but still cold.Bildungsroman wrote:What's the weather like in DC this time of year?

Gross. I think have all my shorts and sandals packed away right now, so I hope it gets down to a reasonable winter temperature by Jan 27th.Entchen wrote:No it's not it's pathetic. For us Southern Californians, where it was sunny and 80 degrees the past two days, 45 degrees is cold!!! And all I have are shorts and sandals... I'll have to get my layers out for the freezing 45 degree weather...Bildungsroman wrote:Gross. I know, I live here. But most of the time it's colder at this time of year.Entchen wrote:No it's not it's pathetic. It's 45 degrees right now.law4vus wrote:Cold. Random snow showers. Not Minnesota or Boston, but still cold.Bildungsroman wrote:What's the weather like in DC this time of year?
I think the most annoying thing is that we fluctuate so damn much. Snow showers on Tuesday, 45 today. There was one point a year or two ago where it was 30 degrees in March after being in the 50s in February.

Hello, all.
First time poster, a friend of mine told me this site is a good way to gather information and meet fellow students. For the ASW at the end of the month, I noticed we can stay with a student on Thursday, but is anyone trying to stay the rest of the weekend? If so, are you staying with friends, or at a hotel?

i searched online nd found out that union station has parking for $20/24hrs...not bad considering my hotel only offers valet for $45....T6Hopeful wrote:So for those who have gotten in -
Who's going to the admitted students' event at the end of the month? I wanted to go to a later one, but their March open house is at the same time as Duke's. I'm specifically wondering if anyone knows anything about free event parking and whatnot. I know there's no ASW reimbursement, but it would kinda be bad form if I have to pay $80 to park for two days.
does anyone kno if the "outing" planned for thursday night is a bar or something of the sort?

I read somewhere it's at Rocketbar, which I googled and is walking distance from the campus. I'm getting excited!! I'm dragging my roommate along with me, hopefully she won't be too bored.prerna wrote:i searched online nd found out that union station has parking for $20/24hrs...not bad considering my hotel only offers valet for $45....T6Hopeful wrote:So for those who have gotten in -

Rocketbar is great. If you guys want to find a place to get a drink or happy hour beforehand, I strongly recommend RFD (Regional Food and Drink). Great food, and they literally have like 150 or more types of beer there.LegallyBlonde923 wrote:I read somewhere it's at Rocketbar, which I googled and is walking distance from the campus. I'm getting excited. But that could also be because I'm taking a half day Thursday and a full day Friday. 3+ day weekend FTW.hipstermafia wrote:YES this is going to be AWESOMELegallyBlonde923 wrote:I read somewhere it's at Rocketbar, which I googled and is walking distance from the campus. I apologize if this has already been covered, but does anyone know when scholarship info comes out? And do we need to email Georgetown and request that we be considered for merit-based aid?

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
Everyone get the email about the admitted students event? Apparently the Night on the Town Event is at "The Irish Times". Also, I might just be a huge nerd, but the SCOTUS case they're discussing the 2nd day is Snyder v Phelps, which I think will be interesting. They did, however, commit the faux pas of referring to CU Boulder as "UC Boulder"
I'm real excited for the ASW

So it looks like it is not Rocketbar, but Irish Times.... It's kind of a surprising choice for GULC, I would have thought they would go somewhere different. Good news is that it is super close to their campus, so there will be no long treks to get there.LegallyBlonde923 wrote:I read somewhere it's at Rocketbar, which I googled and is walking distance from the campus.
