I've read that the big scholarships come with the acceptance, but the smaller scholarships come later (if they come at all).

That is also my understanding (except to the extent people decline big scholarships which may then be reoffered to others).

I was under the impression that UVA doesnt do "small" scholarships. Isnt it either 90,000 (full) or 75,000 (still a big amount)? or do they send out random smaller amounts as well?

It's actually the opposite. I think UVA gives relatively few big scholarships, but lots of little ones. I could be wrong about that, though.

Are you URM? if not then definitely not a YP candidate.
