I'd assume it's just the dates they pass it from one reviewer to the next, since they don't ever meet as a committee to review files.

So I was looking at U of U's FAQs for admissions, and it says that they do them in order of submission and then decide. Pink, could you tell me when you submitted your app, and maybe when your friend did too. That may lead some credence to their claim.

EDIT: I JUST CHANGED TO IN REVIEW 2/16!!

I know that technically means nothing, but it makes me feel like I did something good. Yay me. Unless I get rejected..then boo me?

Thanks Pink. Ya, I think they are indeed going in order, because I submitted late December and was stuck on 12/23 as well until today. So I feel good knowing that they are going like this.

People that submitted in January actually have been told already too. Actually some were called prior to those done earlier... so doesn't look like they are done completely in order either...

I'm afraid I too must throw a wrench in your theory. I submitted 11/9 and am still at 12/23. More and more I find Quinney's status checker to be not credited and completely sporadic, which are always fun aspects when dealing with life changing decisions.

edit: but the change in date seems so far to mean good things.

Thanks Pink. Ya, I think they are indeed going in order, because I submitted late December and was stuck on 12/23 as well until today. So I feel good knowing that they are going like this.

They are definitely not going in order. I submitted 1/14 and was about the second person to here back according to LSN and this site. Not sure why, but I'm not complaining.

Is anyone else having their dates change all the time? I posted earlier about my under review dates changing frequently (1/27; 2/10; 2/15; 2/16) and today it changed again (2/17). It feels almost like they are toying with me. This is seriously becoming an unhealthy obsession. Not knowing is almost....almost as bad as being denied.

Here's my theory, Dean Aguilar is limited to around 20% out of state admits. He is accepting the highest qualified out-of-state applicants first to get his medians has high as possible on that group with some YP. He then has his Utah auto-admits and then the rest of us; the 12/23 group. It's just a theory folks so don't flame me for at least trying to think it through.
