I guess my guess was wrong then ... I wrote the essay too, this is the one that you put in the box on the application right?swimmergirl1303 wrote:I'm instate complete since 10/8 and also hearing crickets. Same here, although I went complete a few days later than you (10/13) and did not do the distinctive contribution essay. I'm a splitter with GPA right at the 25th %, so I'm not feeling too optimistic. Would love to be able to stay in CA...swimmergirl1303 wrote:I'm instate complete since 10/8 and also hearing crickets. Rphilly, Yeah the distinctive contribution was the one in the box/or you can attach and addendum if you need more room. (which I did)

Numbers are so high that they don't think you will actually attend, so to protect their yield percentage (the % of people who accept offers of admissions) they waitlist you. Usually you can get off the waitlist if you demonstrate interest in the school, such as through a Why X essay. Some schools do this more than others, see the sea of yellow on UVA's LSN graph.LawLucy wrote:thecilent wrote:Hope I hear something soon from them. With $, I would def consider ucla. All schools admissions are in some way influenced by US News but at UVA its gotten to the point where it just defies all logicKnock wrote:Numbers are so high that they don't think you will actually attend, so to protect their yield percentage (the % of people who accept offers of admissions) they waitlist you. OMG just got a phone call. ACCEPTED ED. This is unreal. My numbers definitely weren't good enough. 3.45 and 167,169 LSAT. I'm so ecstatic; I feel so blessed. I can't believe my cycle is already over. Good luck to everyone else (especially my splitter friends).
BTW got the call 3PM Eastern.

Re: UCLA? 2011
I honestly have no clue. I don't have any WE. My softs are about average (average PS, average LOR). I did work full time through out undergrad. and held many campus leadership positions. I applied 10/15. I also wrote a "Why UCLA" statement. Nothing too amazing about my app.
Hope this helps.
