Yes, full time. Unfortunately (as you can tell from my e-mail) I won't be freeing up and scholarship $$, but still, a spot is a spot!SummerLaw wrote:We all thank you! I assume Full Time?

Definitely interesting - thought that the next wave of decisions would come sometime in June. Perhaps we'll hear earlier.missvik218 wrote:Ann Richard wrote:MissV,
Good morning.
Since we have not received your first seat deposit, we assume that you are not interested in joining us at GW Law. If this is not the case, please let me know right away by responding to this message or calling me at (202) 994-7235. If I do not hear from you by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, May 20th), we will offer your seat to one of our wait-listed candidates.
Thank you.
Anne

Thank you for your consideration and the opportunity to be a member of GW Law's class of 2013. While I love the school and city, because of financial considerations I've decided to matriculate at a different institution. Please offer my seat to an anxious waitlisted applicant. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
MissVI hope my spot goes to one of you! Looks like you should be starting to hear back shortly .. perhaps as early as next week.
Thanks for the info!

Oh yes, stats might help - I was a high LSAT splitter (surprised I got in in the first place) 169/3.0 with a graduate degree (3.insertclevernamehere wrote:I came to share the good news, but ms. v beat me! Hope you guys get accepted, this is a pretty amazing school and I was so impressed with it. BTW, most helpful admissions staff probably among all T-20 schools.

Re: George Washington University Waitlist Pool
Went up over this past weekend (hot on the heels of my LOCI and LOR) and met Dean Lawrence at the graduate's reception on Saturday night and had a visit that I thought went very well on Monday.
I'm hopeful about the prospects and hope that for everyone who has withdrawn that things work out for you as well as everyone else on the waitlist.
I'll echo the statement that GW has one of the nicest admissions offices ever - very helpful people!

By looking solely at LSN, the people who were accepted off of the WL seem to have 3.7+ GPAs....sigh.

shhhh. we will have none of your statistics here!nooyyllib wrote:By looking solely at LSN, the people who were accepted off of the WL seem to have 3.7+ GPAs....sigh.
also, LSN is probably a self-selecting group; as anonymous as the Internet is, everyone loves to keep a good face.
(which is why i'm using a handle that has no association to anything else i do

The admissions officer I met with seemed to believe there would be a large amount of WL movement this year.

burkinafaso, did you ask in terms of the part-time class? Did they give you this "indication" since last Friday?burkinafaso wrote:I received a similar explicit indication.Aston2412 wrote:The admissions officer I met with seemed to believe there would be a large amount of WL movement this year.

I was told that everyone was on the same "list" but couldn't decipher what that meant as far as spots opening up.sk08 wrote:burkinafaso, did you ask in terms of the part-time class? I did get the impression that PT WL movement would be slower because they have shrunk the program so much. (Bummer)

Re: George Washington University Waitlist Pool
I was informed of the likelihood of WL movement on Monday so it would have been after the WL admissions made last week.

I didn't get a sense of that. The person I spoke with, I'm fairly sure, was cognizant of the fact that I'm a PT applicant - so I think said person would not have said that there would be movement if there wasn't going to be any on the PT side.sk08 wrote:burkinafaso, did you ask in terms of the part-time class? To the other PT applicants - do you all plan to work during school? (I'm a PT'er who is planning to and am just curious)

Yes, but I'd have to go part-time at my job too b/c it is not a 9-5 job and I would need that assurance to know that I could make it to class by 6. I'd still get a decent salary and now I can go back on my parent's health insurance for a year or so.
