So do you think HLS is becoming more holistic? This year's odd patterns don't make sense.

Toby Stock era is over. New admissions dean means slightly new admittance patterns, I'd assume.

It's kind of scary if Harvard can afford to be more holistic this cycle - there are that many 3.85+, 175+ applicants?

Granted the cycle is far from over, but Harvard's graph looks just about identical to last year's.

please welcome me to the club. can i feel safe you think to spend a week or two getting together extra letter of rec and LOCI. That is to say, does being held mean I probably have until at least late march before they reexamine my file or make any decisions? also did everyone's status checker date update when they got held?

Yeah status checker date updates after hold email. And yeah they're not gonna hold you today then reject you Monday. I wouldn't wait until March to send the LOCI and LOR though.

Dropped off my LOCI and additional LOR at the post office about an hour and a half ago. Sent them priority mail in hopes of getting them to Cambridge before too long after Feb. 1.

Held today. 176/3.53, applied 11/08, UR 11/17, no JR 1.

I wasn't expecting to get in, and I'm very happy with my current acceptances, so I'm not too disappointed.

What's the significance of Feb. 1?

Application deadline. I am considering sending off a LOCI to Columbia as well. I will probably just skip slash give up on YLS entirely.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the effect of app. deadline on LOCIs? I am not yet held or WL'd but expect it soon, most likely first week of Feb.

There is some baseless TLS speculation that we will see some movement on "holds" after the Feb. 1 deadline passes. They will then have their entire applicant pool and can begin to reassess our applications.

In past years, have most 'held' applicants been WL'ed? Do you expect 'held' + URM movement more likely to be in Feb or later?

UR date? I am more and more convinced that HLS is trying to pull an SLS on us.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
