Well I was referring to the recent scholarship updates, assuming you got yours a while ago. Buttt I was wrong anyway of course, Trahekat busted my theory apart hah.S de Garmeaux wrote:3.3/165 got me $ but i applied at the end of Octobermotedust wrote:So far everyone that has gotten $$ has a 3.6+ GPA I believe.
EDIT: On second thought I'm gonna update my theory and say only 3.5+, looking at some new people's numbers.

++1! Got this email too! I was ready to send my deposit in to a higher ranked school at sticker...this makes my decision MUCH MUCH MUCH harder/kind of makes it for me. That's 66k I won't be in debt. Kind of scared to pull the trigger and actually commit by Monday, such a quick turn around. O well +++ for $$$traehekat wrote:Congratulations! You have been awarded a merit-based scholarship in the amount of $22500.00 based on your most impressive accomplishments. The scholarship is renewable each year you are enrolled in the regular J.D. program. To retain the full amount of your scholarship for three years your cumulative class standing must remain in the upper two-thirds of your class at the end of each year.

I was really hoping for something. The conversations via email I had with Ms. Nutt made it seem like I had a very good chance at the next batch of scholarships. Bummed out beyond belief. Not sure what to do.

I'm a <25th GPA and >75th LSAT late acceptance too. I haven't heard anything about a scholarship offer today either.motedust wrote:Well I was referring to the recent scholarship updates, assuming you got yours a while ago. Re: Wake Forest 2010
So since the deadline is Monday (correct me if I am wrong) it is theoretically possible that they will again shift the scholarships down the line if a lot of people withdraw?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I'm confused about accepting the scholarship. If we accept, do we also have to put down a seat deposit and withdraw from all other schools or how exactly does this work. Also, is it binding. I mean, if I decide not to go to LS in the fall can I just tell them that and lose my deposit monies?

Probably. It is a really short amount of time to render a decision of such magnitude; I do not believe they would do so without good reason.keemos wrote:So since the deadline is Monday (correct me if I am wrong) it is theoretically possible that they will again shift the scholarships down the line if a lot of people withdraw?

I'm confused about this too. What are the exact terms to accept? The binding nature or not is huge. I want to know! Do we have to sign anything?Kchuck wrote:I'm confused about accepting the scholarship. Sorry to hear this man, really sucks. I'm sure there is a chance some money could be reallocated again after the 12th, though. Totally understand if that doesn't really make you feel better though.moandersen wrote:![]()

One of the few? 50% of wakies pay sticker.lawwhat wrote:+1akili wrote:I was pretty sure I wouldn't get anything, but still. Sad.
It's going to suck to be one of the few at Wake paying full sticker. On the bright side, I'll guiltlessly recycle any requests for donations to the school in the years to come. I'll have already given more than enough $.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I got $22,500!! Wow after the fake 30k email and then no real scholarship for so long after that I had kinda marked it off my list! Too bad I'm halfway to Tulane or I'd turn around and visit Wake
Hopefully they'll let us new scholarship recipients budge a little on the deposit deadline...

Yeah, I would say Iowa just slipped way down.

Anyone know if tuition is "locked in" for all three years at Wake, or do you have to factor tuition increases into your decision?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I appreciate the effort. If people with my numbers didnt get $$, I would be able to rest a little easier - but they did. However, because my app got in late, and my acceptance date was the one immediately after they ran out of the initial $, Im now looking at sticker. Ill more than likely give a deposit to wake and loyola, and write my loci to wisconsin. Ill end up at one of those three, but now the decision is much harder.traehekat wrote:Sorry to hear this man, really sucks. Re: Wake Forest 2010
Don't be too bummed. I look at my alternatives and ask myself whether or not I really want to attend those other schools. I would be settling with any of my other options, so I'm OK with paying full pop at Wake. Yeah, scholarship money would be nice, but I can't short change myself in terms of my education by choosing money elsewhere.lml09 wrote:moandersen wrote:![]()

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I called and Jenny said that since the deadline is Monday for the people who received schollys today, if there are people who don't take the money they would be reallocating around a week after. So it's essentially a trickle down effect. Take that as you will but for me personally, I've had enough of being the horse chasing the carrot. Good luck to everyone else!!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
