Re: Columbia 2010
any chance RD applicants will begin to hear back this week?
CLS uses only email to give decisions, right?
edit: hmm... never mind, i read a couple pages back. looks like a couple more weeks at least

I just submitted. The wait will be easy for me since I know I'm either going to get rejected or WLed

My DREAM school
At this point, I'm either going to be rejected or WL'ed and I'm hoping for the latter. At least then I can continue to tell them how much I love them.

I recently got a fee waiver from Columbia and my numbers are 169/3.3. They just trying to pad their stats?

Fee waiver means they're not getting money from me...

They send out a lot of fee waivers. They are more than likely trying to pad their stats. As a 169, 3.3, non-URM, you shouldn't hold your breath over Columbia.Doodsmack wrote:Fee waiver means they're not getting money from me...

I used to think "Oh it's okay I don't need to worry about Columbia they don't notify until January"

+1. And does 1/11 count as mid January? If so that is terrifying.wackjickham wrote:I used to think "Oh it's okay I don't need to worry about Columbia they don't notify until January"

I got a fee waiver as well, and my LSAT is lower ^. I applied (of course) but I don't think URM can save me from rejection.crackberry wrote:They send out a lot of fee waivers. I would say no but it's fast approaching. Also, we're numbers twins (almost)... Don't take my spot.Dtackpat75 wrote:+1. And does 1/11 count as mid January? If so that is terrifying.wackjickham wrote:I used to think "Oh it's okay I don't need to worry about Columbia they don't notify until January"

I have a 173 and a 3.9 and didn't get one. I think it's pretty arbitrary. Sorry.Doodsmack wrote:I recently got a fee waiver from Columbia and my numbers are 169/3.3. They just trying to pad their stats?

+1. If they were trying to pad their stats, they likely would have sent me a waiver.a.shoshana wrote:I have a 173 and a 3.9 and didn't get one. I think it's pretty arbitrary. Re: Columbia 2010
There is more than one way for a law school to "pad its stats." Doodsmack, I think, was referring to the practice of giving out fee waivers to those who are unlikely to get accepted. The benefit to the law school is that it gets to reject more people and thus increase its selectivity ratings.managamy wrote:+1. Based on what I've seen on TLS, Columbia gives out hundreds (at least) of fee waivers to people who have no chance of being accepted.

Had a dream that CLS accepted me last night. The letter was rolled up like a scroll and I was crying and calling every person in my phone. Then I woke up so incredibly depressed knowing that this was not going to happen.
