Re: Harvard 2010!
Congrats to all of you JR2 people! JGG, I keep asking that but I think one (only one IIRC) 11/19 complete person got a JR1 but no one else seems to have gotten them, so as silly as it sounds I hope they're just coming back to us laterJollyGreenGiant wrote:Has there really been no JR1s for us 11/19 complete folk? That gives me hope.

Re: Harvard 2010!
if i'm remembering correctly, it looks like all the new admits today are pretty recent JR1s - i don't think any of them was up for a possible JR2 on the first round, 11/23. probably not the best news for us, but take it how you willCore wrote:Grats to all the JR2's today. Mine better come

Re: Harvard 2010!
I've been under review since october and have lost all hope really.
But, just so my mind can rest at ease, there haven't been any acceptances or JR1s sent out to people with numbers below median right? either LSAT or GPA? everyone who got a JR1/JR2 seems to have stellar credentials.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Ouch. Well, after checking out last year's cycle, if I'm going to be admitted, it would be after mid-December. Check out my LSN (in my profile). URMs with my #s are rarely admitted this early. Can you PM me your LSN page (assuming you have one)?GargamelITT wrote:if i'm remembering correctly, it looks like all the new admits today are pretty recent JR1s - i don't think any of them was up for a possible JR2 on the first round, 11/23. probably not the best news for us, but take it how you willCore wrote:Grats to all the JR2's today. Re: Harvard 2010!
there've definitely been admits below LSAT median and below GPA median, though i don't know of any admits with both numbers below median. i think LSN showed more admits below LSAT median than below GPA median, fwiw.PapantlaFlyer wrote:I've been under review since october and have lost all hope really.

edit: actually just had another look and never mind that, looks like they're about even. there's definitely a predominance of super-strong numbers on the graph though. if you mark the point of both medians on the graph, it looks like most of the admits are to the upper-right of it (above both medians). not surprising to see at this point in the cycle

sigh, today i join the ranks of you two and the other JR1/noJR2's. can we form an elite, angsty club, please?GargamelITT wrote:if i'm remembering correctly, it looks like all the new admits today are pretty recent JR1s - i don't think any of them was up for a possible JR2 on the first round, 11/23. probably not the best news for us, but take it how you willCore wrote:Grats to all the JR2's today. i never posted my JR1 (which was last week) because i saw this coming with my splitter stats and didn't want to get my hopes up.
anyway, for all you HLS splitters out there, there is hope for the JR1, but it's by no means a guarantee of a JR2. oh, and i'm pretty sure it was my GPA and not my interview that did me out. JR could not possibly have gleaned anything from the interview-- he was super uninterested, interrupted me / cut me off at a couple of points, didn't ask questions besides the 3, and kept it all under 5 minutes.
congrats to all the JR2's today!

i really think you should think of it as a sociopath-screen and that the status of your app as it currently is (in both strengths and weaknesses) is how you will be viewed as an applicant. don't sweat it; you're normal!somewhatwayward wrote:who else has JR1 tomorrow? i am already nervous....

Did anyone reply to the JRI email? Confirming the time, and perhaps providing a land telephone number just in case my cell phone decides to explode on the very day I need it most?

Re: Harvard 2010!
You should be happy that you received one. It's the bigger of the two hurdles in the admissions process; you're already in a highly select group.somewhatwayward wrote:who else has JR1 tomorrow? i am already nervous....

No, I thought that I shouldn't respond unless I wanted to change the time. There's no need to clog his inbox with superfluous emails; they only serve to show how nervous you are.NeuroticallyYours wrote:Did anyone reply to the JRI email? When did you submit at HLS and when did you get the JR1 email?NeuroticallyYours wrote:Also, what are my chances at a JR2 if I'm getting a JR1 at this point in the cycle. I submitted my applications in mid/late Nov. so the turnaround has been quite fast.
