This PT crap is getting old. I did a bunch of work to make sure my all my apps were in early and I've been UR at Duke since 11/9. I've inquired about when to expect a decision and I was told they are up 25% in applications. People who submitted apps a week ago are hearing back and most of the early apps are still waiting around.

I don't even get the point of priority track. No one is going to attend Duke based on the fact that they accepted them w/in 10 days and most schools take 8 weeks.

I'm actually curious as to why they do it. The only thing that clearly sticks out to me is that it might bump their app volume a bit. They also probably have a slightly better picture of what their incoming class is going to look like earlier in the cycle.

It's basically a way for them to presort auto-admits. I'm not even sure they read my application, just sent out the acceptance email.

+1, and I feel similarly about UVA. I plan on withdrawing from both within the next few days - no sense waiting around for a decision if they couldn't be bothered to make one after a solid 3 months.

Yeah, right now, I'm not really liking the Priority Track. It just serves to make me more and more anxious because everyone but me is getting in.

See, if I were in your position I would have withdrawn already. Four months? You're not fucking Yale/Stanford/Boalt who actually care about the entire app package. Give me a damn decision and stop worrying about yield/YP bullshit.

I've considered it many times. But I am holding out to see if UVA might throw a big scholarship at me after all the wait.

Chancellors perhaps. Do you have good softs? It's full-tuition plus COL stipend.

Actually it was the PT invite that really moved Duke up to the #1 spot on my list. It gives invites more time to think about and research the school. However, I can see it from the other point of view as I have been "UR" at Virginia since November 1st and it has stoped me from thinking about attending the school. If they can get all early applicants decided upon by the end of Feb it doesn't really hurt them with that crowd. People just need a couple of weeks to considering a school and book arraingments to attend an ASW or visit.

Yes. That makes me concerned for our chances.

Maybe they go through everyone for that day and then after making all the decisions they send out the emails. Hopefully we were early in the lineup.

TITCR. My status checker changed at 10am and didn't get my acceptance email until 3pm back in November.
