Re: Michigan c/o 2020 applicants (2016-17)
Does anyone have any info on when summer start applicants might find out?
I applied on the deadline (which wasn't ideal, I realize), but since I only went complete recently I am worried about finding out in time to get everything together for a May 30 orientation!

My understanding is that being a summer starter does not speed up your application. You'll find out if you're a summer starter when you get accepted. The first deposit deadline is the same for fall and summer starters. However, I do believe they prioritize summer starters when it comes to processing loans. Someone in the summer starter c/o 2020 thread said they spoke to the finaid office and they said they only need two weeks to process loan requests and get you the funds.utnyc44 wrote:Does anyone have any info on when summer start applicants might find out?

If you go into the 2020 area, there's both a Michigan Summer Starter c/o 2020 thread AND a Michigan c/o 2020 thread.UghNonAmus wrote:Anyone wanna start a thread for those attending ASW this week? Or is the population of future students on here smaller than I believe it to be?

I was just accepted for summer start, email was sent at 6:30 am Eastern time today. Went complete just a couple of weeks ago.utnyc44 wrote:Does anyone have any info on when summer start applicants might find out?

Congrats! So that seems fairly fast, which is both encouraging and discouragingdrjekyllope wrote:I was just accepted for summer start, email was sent at 6:30 am Eastern time today. Does anyone know if Michigan has a set date were all regular decisions will be made by?

Last year according to MyLSN all but one were reported by April 1st the exception was April 4th. The year before that all but a couple rejections were done by march 27th. And before that april 1st again. Seems like by the end of the first week of april is a reasonable expectation.helpmedecide222 wrote:Does anyone know if Michigan has a set date were all regular decisions will be made by?

Anyone seriously considering UMich but unable to make it for the ASWs? I feel like I'm the only one not going. Feel terrible.
I definitely plan on visiting before the deposit deadline, but I'm afraid I'm gonna miss out on a lot.

Me. Don't sweat it. If you have/can visit another time it's no big deal! I already visited.StopLawying wrote:Anyone seriously considering UMich but unable to make it for the ASWs? I feel like I'm the only one not going. Feel terrible.

A lot of the students I met at Berkeley said they had never visited before they arrived for orientation. I think if you're visiting you'll be fine! Just let the admissions office know and they'll accommodate you to show you what you need to knowStopLawying wrote:Anyone seriously considering UMich but unable to make it for the ASWs?
