Ok thanks! That's good to know.tflan19 wrote:Georgetown doesn't send acceptance emails. It comes via mail. Hi everyone!(:
I had a few questions,
1) is it okay if ED is taking longer than 3 weeks right now? Getting super anxious.
2) is it safe to assume that GT tends to send acceptances on mondays ( so that is when Asw typically becomes available) and rejections/waitlists/defferments on fridays?
And all kind of around 5 pm?
^ that all just scares me because I am afraid since I was unable to log in yesterday, there is still nothing in the mail for me and thus I will be rejected on friday.

My acceptance letter was postmarked on a Thursday, so it definitely varies. (Although, I wasn't ED.)Doglover1994 wrote:Hi everyone!(:

I'm sure this was asked before, is the interview a pre-req for admission or have people gotten in without it?GrumpyYellowOgre wrote:Finally (presumably) in via ASW! Alumni interview was before the holidays. Hope that helps anyone still waiting.

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It seems like the people who have gotten interviews tend to be splitters/borderline applicants to get a better idea of the person beyond the numbers, and high number applicants to gauge their interest in the school. It also has a lot to do with where you are -- I'm pretty sure Andy tries to do group interviews with as many people as possible (either if you are within a day trip of DC or he is on campus visiting near you) but they don't have control over what cities they have alumni willing to do interviews as well.hopefuljumbo23 wrote:You can get in without it!tezzeret wrote:I'm sure this was asked before, is the interview a pre-req for admission or have people gotten in without it?GrumpyYellowOgre wrote:Finally (presumably) in via ASW! Do you guys think getting an email from the director of admissions is a good sign?

What's in the email? Andy is very much more vocally involved than other Deans.GreenDino wrote:Do you guys think getting an email from the director of admissions is a good sign?

GULC sent my recommender a thank you email. my recommender thought it was a good sign, but I think its just a generic thank you with no significance. anyone else get one?

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
If you go back in the thread, it seems pretty common. Not sure if everyone gets it and not everyone's recommenders let them know, or if they only send it to certain recommenders. But not really a sign one way or the other.proteinshake wrote:GULC sent my recommender a thank you email. my recommender thought it was a good sign, but I think its just a generic thank you with no significance. anyone else get one?

Same thing happened to me. I'm assuming it's just a generic response because it reads like one.proteinshake wrote:GULC sent my recommender a thank you email. my recommender thought it was a good sign, but I think its just a generic thank you with no significance. anyone else get one?

My recommender got a thank you email and I got in. My friend's recommender got a thank you email and she got dinged. So yeah, seems to be a generic responseProductofUnreality wrote:Same thing happened to me. Applied ED back in September. Deferred to RD in November. Nothing but crickets since. Anyone else on this same boat?

I had a group interview on campus last week, and the email said to dress business casual. I played it safe and wore a suit, but hardly anyone else did. I think what you described should be just fine.proteinshake wrote:any idea on what to wear at the interview? thinking about just a suit with a coat instead of a suit jacket.

Most people actually wore suits in my interview. So basically wear what you're comfortable with. I erred on the formal side, and it worked out well for me!DeathByLSATWasTaken wrote:I had a group interview on campus last week, and the email said to dress business casual. They haven't given a firm timeline, but based on history some folks might start hearing end of February, most of the decisions going out in March.strongbadge wrote:Does anyone know when scholarship info will be released, or if it already has?
