If I were to write a drama series about my application cycle I would have a whole chapter on UVA and how much spunk they've got this year. So much pizazz I can't even.

Just withdrew. Application complete 1/12, nothing since then. I'm probably would have gotten in, but I had no real interest in going to UVA from the start. Hopefully this frees up a spot for one of you guys.

If they strung out this application process as a way of yield protecting by attrition, it certainly worked on me. Good luck!

I wonder if they're keeping like a secret waitlist of people they would offer admissions to when people start dropping out. Why else have some people still UR for forever and not just waitlist everyone? Especially as it seems they really are maxed out on offers for the moment...

I visited today and I'm really glad I did. Everyone was really friendly and honest about their thoughts on the school. Also met with dean Faulk and he said wait list decisions won't happen until April 23 (assuming they take from it) and basically he said that if you're on the wait list you can't expect a scholarship offer

I have no idea what truth there is to that, and not sure my friend even knows the details of what she heard or read, but it seemed like a noteworthy comment worth mentioning.

It seems that that is definitely the case in terms of offers, but if they already have a full class that has deposited, UVA wins this cycle by a long shot (I don't think so). They probably wouldn't still be waitlisting so many people if they had a truly full class.

I would not bet on that. UVA is really big on using the WL as a soft-rejection (and they feel the need to explicitly say it isn't in their WL email lol)... Over last few years competitive applicants have 120 rejections and 514 WL.
