I'm so sorry to hear all of these WL/DINGs coming in today!

Is anyone else out there still waiting? I've been complete since 11/9, no way do I see anything other than a WL/Ding coming, so they must feel like really torturing me, right?

I'm still waiting but I'm a first week of Jan submit so I'm not expecting anything for awhile (though, it looks like a few Jan submits heard back today).

Hurting for those who got bad news today. I'm sure you will all do great things, regardless!

Apologies for the humblebrag but I applied RD to NU as a long shot, and was pretty surprised to get in today. Now I'm wondering if I should have just applied ED for a chance at that 150K. Are they really really selective with their ED admits b/c of the scholarship money? With (at the time) 1 year WE, and 3.4/173 would I have had a real shot at ED? Strange mixture of joy and possibly regret right now.

I think most ED admits had the LSAT and GPA. Like 3.7 or higher.

3.4/173, 1 year WE is not a long shot at NU RD. Your thoughts about ED are colored by the fact that you underestimated your RD chances.

The decision letter says

Please note that applicants who are admitted from the waiting list typically receive financial aid in the form of
loans rather than grants. Although grants are generally not available, all admitted candidates can apply for
low-interest federal and institutional loans to cover all educational expenses, including tuition, room and board, and
all living expenses less any outside resources (i.e., outside scholarships, gift money, etc.).

It says "generally not available." Anyone know if this means that effectively no WLers (if admitted later) are considered for scholarships and they just use the vague wording to give themselves wiggle room?

Gratz! It's a long cycle, who knows what will happen. But now you have an acceptance to a great school under your belt, makes life much easier!

the weather in my homeland today made me swear off schools in cold areas but I suppose that should be #138 in the list of important factors in making this choice, otherwise I'd be headed to school in Hawaii. If I can make it to ASW we need to hang out!
