Saw an envelope in my mailbox, could only see ColXXXX because the rest of the from sender area was covered with a postage sticker.
Just some info from William and Mary

Are all scholarships awarded when the VCEs come, or are there further merit awards later on when need-based is given?

All of the named scholarships come with the VCEs I think. Smaller merit awards come out after financial aid, but it's 10-15k/year awards.pineappledazzler wrote:Are all scholarships awarded when the VCEs come, or are there further merit awards later on when need-based is given?

Yes, I'm Canadian and I received an email on Wednesday that said:bluenoser wrote:Anyone in Canada with a VCE yet?
Dear vodkashot:
Please find a copy of your Columbia Law School decision letter attached to this email in PDF format. The original letter was placed in the mail on January 24, 2012.
Best regards,
Jill Nussbaum
etc., etc.
(although it freaked me out when I first saw the email because the subject line didn't say "Congratulations" like the acceptance emails from many other schools).

Congrats to the new admits! Do we have a consensus yet on if this is all of the acceptances or just the first round? I'm in Manhattan and haven't received a VCE yet. CLS is a reach for me but not trying to give up hope quite yet.

I was being a bit glib... haven't made any real decisions yet. Need to go to ASWs and also talk to some actual lawyers to get advice on the choice. Could be I go to Columbia and can't see myself there. Who knows.boosk wrote:When are you planning on withdrawing from HLS?justinp wrote:Whelp, guess I'm not going to Harvard after all... in at CLS with a Hamilton.

based on the low number of acceptances here and on LSN, there are probably still many more to comedachshund wrote:Congrats to the new admits! VCE in New Jersey with a HAMILTON. I'm beyond stunned right now. Unbelievable.
And yes, I was able to get in to the website via that trick.

I would've been too afraid to have opened the letter! That sounds like a horrible thing to read via email.vodkashot wrote:Yes, I'm Canadian and I received an email on Wednesday that said:bluenoser wrote:Anyone in Canada with a VCE yet?

Is there anybody else out there with numbers above both medians, who has gotten into stanford and or harvard, who still has not heard back? Thought a couple of days ago i might have seen a few amidst the madness over "the trick."
any theories as to the reason? YP? weak application or poorly tailored to columbia?
thanks guys

Yes - GPA and LSAT right around the 75th, admitted to Harvard in December, no word from Columbia yet. Though my Inquiry Which Shall Not Be Named suggested I might have good news from CLS soon, I haven't checked my mail yet today, and I'm nowhere near NYC.heavy wrote:Is there anybody else out there with numbers above both medians, who has gotten into stanford and or harvard, who still has not heard back? On the other hand, I really didn't tailor my application to Columbia at all, and the school isn't the best match for my interests, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if I weren't admitted.

Re: Columbia c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I'm in the same position (also admitted at H in December). Unsuccessful with the Voldemort trick, in NYC, no VCE. However, I looked at LSN for the applicants with the same LSAT as me last cycle and a close range of GPAs. All but one got into Columbia, including quite a few with $. It seemed like there was another wave of acceptances around the second week of Feb. So now I'm feeling more hopeful! I think we're going to be seeing a lot more acceptances over the next few weeksheavy wrote:Is there anybody else out there with numbers above both medians, who has gotten into stanford and or harvard, who still has not heard back?
