Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Do we think today is the day for another batch of admits? Also, I just checked LSN, and it seems as if only one person below a 172 received a KB2 (the 167/3.55 is not accurate, as it appears on every graph and was there before any KB2's went out on TLS). Is that data bias? Or has anyone on TLS below a 172 received a KB2?

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Well LSN is never accurate for the entire pool of applicants. That being said, it does seem that they might be shooting for a 172 median by letting in largely 172+ for the early bunches. Presumably, as the cycle goes on, they'll start to fall off to other schools in part and also just filling the class will happen with those below so that even if that appears a floor right now, it might end up being a median later. Oh and LaCump got a KB2 and has a 170. Truth is, we just don't know how schools are responding to a possible drop in apps. It seems to me that the graph thus far looks awfully similar to last year, so the median may stay the same. Who knows, but its normal to see this early in the cycle that the admits are skewed to those with higher numbers.huck2012 wrote:Do we think today is the day for another batch of admits? Also, alot of people have their LSN profiles set to private until the cycle is over.

One person with a 170 and a 4.0X got a KB2 (non-URM hispanic)huck2012 wrote:Do we think today is the day for another batch of admits? Well, I happen to have only a 171 LSAT, 3.9X GPA, but received a KB2 recently. (I think. I'm still out of the country without access to my US voicemail. But my status changed and I now have a jd15.law.harvard.edu email.) So people with below-median LSAT scores should not lose hope.
EDIT: I'm not an URM, though I am atypical in many other ways.

No one should lose hope based on results thus far. They just aren't going to be indicative of the whole class.oldguy30 wrote:Well, I happen to have only a 171 LSAT, 3.9X GPA, but received a KB2 recently. (I think. Congrats! When did you receive an KB1 email and when was your KB1, if you don't mind me asking?oldguy30 wrote:Well, I happen to have only a 171 LSAT, 3.9X GPA, but received a KB2 recently. (I think. Congrats on Harvard!! You give me hope - very similar stats as yours, applied a couple weeks after you did. Here's hoping that us mid-November applicants hear some good news soon!oldguy30 wrote:I posted the info 2 pages back. Here it is again:freestallion wrote:Congrats! Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Interesting note from my KB1: she said something like "This year, we're doing things (as far as the timing of KB1s/KB2s) a bit differently, so I don't think the usual timing cycles are going to apply. Sometimes i'm at one point in the review of an application and sometimes a totally different point"
(This is paraphrased, but it gets the gist across. Hope it's of some interest. Conspiracy theorists, go nuts!)

I thought KB1 came typically 2 weeks after the complete email?! Didn't realize they were moving so fast. Oh gosh, won't be able to concentrate at all next week.

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
2 weeks is just a rough "average" -- but even that is a misapplication of the word. it's definitely not a hard rule. for example, many people (myself included) went complete on 11/23 + received their KB1s on 11/29. but don't forget -- some people have to wait months for theirs! moral of the story: don't try to guess when it's coming + never give up hope!

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous that you applied so late, went UR so quickly and got a KB1 even quicker. Anything in your background/softs/URM status to explain this?Davidbentley wrote:Thanks. Hopefully there's more emails being sent off soon

Lol. Not that I know of. I imagine the URM is the big thing. The only other distinctive thing about me is my current job. It's not significant(on a global scale) but it is fairly interesting.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Yeah that's pretty ridiculous that you applied so late, went UR so quickly and got a KB1 even quicker.
