I think I might need to wait until next week then because I "corrected" my FAFSA after I emailed him and had only done needaccess the night before or w.e...

Man, I submitted my NeedAccess and FAFSA on Feb. 1st (deadline for another school) and still haven't heard anything about financial aid, merit or need. Sorry, UCLA, but I'm probably going to withdraw this weekend.

To the people who gave received need based awards, are you coming straight from undergrad or have you been working? I wonder if I am just not getting anything.

+1, received a nearly identical email from the financial aid office today.hipstermafia wrote:I just don't want to annoy anyone (not that you did!), but i e-mailed finaid last week to ask if they had received my needaccess and fafsa and this is what i got back:askyemcdonald wrote:Shoot the Dean an email. That's what I did.hipstermafia wrote:has anyone else who completed finaid stuff not heard back with an offer? I am starting to get sad.
not exactly an encouraging response.UCLA FINAID wrote: Deear Hipster,
Both the Need Access and the federal processor provide the confirmation of your applications. The federal processor does this once your application is processed sending you the information on summary of your answers and the schools listed as well as providing your with your Expected Family Contribution or EFC. The Need Access provides your with a confirmation once you submit your application electronically. These are your "receipts" in a sense and verifications that the information was send to schools. The filing date of the application is what is importnat making sure that is prior to the deadline and given that you have filed both of them already they are defenitely on time.

Re: UCLA? 2011
Yes and no...I dislike Harvard's size and I really hate the cold and New England (I went to school in MA for UG and was not a fan). I have a lot of ties to Southern California and the Southwest (will for sure end up in the west/southwest after graduation), and I am extremely debt averse. For all those reasons, I would definitely consider something close to a full ride at many of the lower-ranked schools I applied to, including UCLA. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll get that kind of offer from them. Hoping my withdrawal helps someone else out!bhan87 wrote:I can't imagine any amount of money would draw you away from Harvardjuliachild-ish wrote:Man, I submitted my NeedAccess and FAFSA on Feb. 1st (deadline for another school) and still haven't heard anything about financial aid, merit or need. Anyone else still waiting for a decision from UCLA? I've been UR since early Nov., and have been accepted at Chicago, Berkeley, Northwestern, Duke, Georgetown, etc. Sorry if waiting has been addressed in earlier posts.

I also applied mid-November and haven't heard anything. UCLA is probably my top choice so I sent in an LOCI a couple weeks ago.

Haven't heard anything since 12/15 when they sent the complete email. Do you think I should call and ask for a status check? Or would that be too needy....humm

So those of you who have been watching UCLA closely this cycle--think there'll be a wave of decisions this week?
