So when do January (complete app status) applicants tend to hear back? I had a group interview in like October and still nothing... ALOT of November applicants are on the ropes too. Wtf?

Just got upgraded from regular to "preferred" waitlist. No LOCI sent, but I will now! Thanks to all those who withdrew

I made my box look like one of GuLC's advertisement. The format was identical but the words and pictures were all about selling myself to the school.dizzylizzy wrote:I'm a member of the group of applicants that have been held for the end of February and I was seriously thinking about sending in an optional essay. I didn't include one with my application, and I had to turn down the interview offer because I didn't have transportation, so I'm worried they might be questioning my interest. Does anyone have ANY idea of what people have done for the "fill-in-the-box" option?? I'm a painter in my spare time and was thinking about doing something creative with it.

Very similar situation as you. Waitlisted last year, rejected this year with a markedly better LSAT. They must have many more applicants this year?lurker816 wrote:Uh, dinged today after being held and sending LOCI. Retaking the LSAT tomorrow. Sorry about the ding! Would you mind telling us when you got held originally?bmurp wrote:I had previously been held, but dinged today. Just an update for anyone else who was held! Probably good news for anyone else who didn't receive an email today!

Let me put your mind at ease. Your best bet would have been Northwestern, but honestly even that would have been unlikely. You would need to be well above the 75th to compensate for your GPA, and unfortunately you are not. Georgetown is a great school, and the part-time program is the best there is. The fact that you're already working at a big firm puts you in a unique position to make real contacts in the legal world during your time in law school. And if you hate it, you can transfer to full-time or another school.nervousfirsttimer wrote:.

Of course all that being said, you already have a good job. You can afford to throw away this admissions cycle, study like hell to bring your LSAT up several points, and then try again next year. It's your call.

Thank you, that did make me feel much better. I wrote to them about it and they told me that they have added me to the preferred waitlist for full-time so there is some hope

Question for you guys: at median LSAT, >75 GPA, held in december, still no decision made. Should I write an LOCI? The reason I hesitate is they said in the held email they don't need anymore information and it doesn't seem like the people in this thread who have been sending them have gotten any good results. Accepted to 2 other t14 fwiw.

I would only write an LOCI if you get waitlisted. If you didn't do the optional response though, you could consider doing that and having them add it to your application.cub1014 wrote:Question for you guys: at median LSAT, >75 GPA, held in december, still no decision made. Ty I did an optional response and an alumni interview so your advice is well taken.squirtlesquad14 wrote:I would only write an LOCI if you get waitlisted. If you can generate the credentials, you are in. It can take several days for them to actually become valid to login. I was able to generate credentials on a Monday (when they mail out letters) got my letter on Wednesday, and was able to long-in for the first time either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.DeathByLSATWasTaken wrote:I am too, but the username/password combo isn't working. Thanks! I just tried to log in and I was so excited that I told some of my coworkers, but that would be so embarrassing if I'm not actually in...squirtlesquad14 wrote:If you can generate the credentials, you are in. Did they send you an acceptance email the day you were able to generate credentials, or did it come later? Basically I'm wondering if I shouldn't be expecting an acceptance email from them if I can't generate credentials yet.squirtlesquad14 wrote:If you can generate the credentials, you are in. Georgetown doesn't send acceptance emails. It comes via mail. If you can't generate credentials, a decision hasn't been rendered yet (dings and WLs have come via email in the past).dmurd wrote: Did they send you an acceptance email the day you were able to generate credentials, or did it come later?
