If they averaged my scores, I would likely not have been accepted. 13 is a pretty big jump, but there have been others (not necessarily applying to Duke) with higher increases who did not write an addendum and did fine.WaitersIsland wrote:On Duke's application it mentions that it considers all LSAT scores and believes the average is the best indicator for success, then mentions writing an addendum for large score increases. Do they really do this, or do they just look at the highest score like every other school? FTR I had a 13 point increase from my 1st to 2nd test.

Cheers, thanks!lymenheimer wrote:Yea. You don't get login info. You get instructions for fin aid stuff, and go to the login site and whatnot yourself (and do login yourself). So I see Duke gives you a decision within 10 days... do they also tell you something about scholarships at that time, or do you have to wait until later on in the process to find out if you're being considered for Mordecai, etc.?

With Priority Track you get a decision within 10 days. You will likely get informed of the scholarship process at that time if you are admitted, ie: information on fafsa/need access/scholarship application form. Not sure how Mordecai offers work in January.RZ5646 wrote:So I see Duke gives you a decision within 10 days... do they also tell you something about scholarships at that time, or do you have to wait until later on in the process to find out if you're being considered for Mordecai, etc.?

After, hopefully, getting accepted via PT, you are "conditionally admitted to Duke." Basically, they ask if you want to apply for scholarships to be fully admitted and offer a Skype interview with the Financial Aid Office if you do. If you do not want to apply for any scholarships then you can waive thatRZ5646 wrote:So I see Duke gives you a decision within 10 days... do they also tell you something about scholarships at that time, or do you have to wait until later on in the process to find out if you're being considered for Mordecai, etc.?

This is a little deceptive because RZ is asking about Mordecai. RZ, if you do not want any need-based scholarship consideration, you can waive that. That does not mean you waive merit-based. If you receive an acceptance, all of this information will be shared with you via financial aid office which will make it easier to understand. So good luck.spauldingno wrote:After, hopefully, getting accepted via PT, you are "conditionally admitted to Duke." Thanks guys. I need all the money I can get, so I won't be waiving anything.lymenheimer wrote:This is a little deceptive because RZ is asking about Mordecai. How long does it take them to reply emails soliciting PT invites?

Has anybody gotten off the PR List? Submitted a Why Duke right before the break and got a confirmation email a few days ago, wondering how long it usually takes for movement from that point.

Re: Duke University School of Law C/O 2019 Applicants
Since they're still working on regular apps, rejections, and more WLs, my guess would be not until late Feb at the earliest. Based on other schools, they might not hit WL until closer to the seat deposit deadline. but that's just based on how I would think the cycle would run, I don't actually know.edditb wrote:Has anybody gotten off the PR List? Haha thats what i thought but i couldnt be sure. I solicited in september and got it next day. But there were some extenuating circumstances for why i didnt get one unsolicited so idk if that was abnormal or what.strawberrieee wrote:LOL Sorry. Too early in the morning. Mine took under half an hour from sending the email to the general admissions inbox to receiving the PT invite. Bear in mind that I did this during working hours, but I'd imagine they have a speedy turnaround time for simple requests like fee waivers.lymenheimer wrote:Haha thats what i thought but i couldnt be sure. Did your emails get forwarded to the Director of Admissions? Or did you receive the reply directly from people who took care of the general admissions inbox? I was told that my email got forwarded and I should allow "several days" for the Director to reply. But it's hard to tell how many days are consider "several days" and I don't want to appear too pushy. I guess they're in busy season, so I'll give them a week or so.nacogdoches wrote:Mine took under half an hour from sending the email to the general admissions inbox to receiving the PT invite. When I tried soliciting PT it was sent to the director. He responded in a few days.strawberrieee wrote:Did your emails get forwarded to the Director of Admissions? Haven't done it yet, but from everything I've read, just expect a conversational tone, particularly about your career goals, your available resources (parental assistance/etc), and how Duke can help you get there (I think).kennethparcell wrote:Has anyone done the scholarship interview yet?
