Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Finally decided to take a shot at NYU. I'm not a huge fan of NYC, but might as well see what happens. GPA=25%, 75%<LSAT
Good luck everybody!

Hey, longtime lurker here looking for the group's thoughts: I'm above 75th LSAT and GPA and UR2 12/3. Anybody else in a similar position? Is there still hope or should I be bracing myself to be in the 5% LSN WL statistic?
Congrats to everyone who's already gotten good news!

Somewhat similar, in the sense that every time I see another person who submitted in January get accepted my heart breaks a little further.ThatWouldBeEnough wrote:Hey, longtime lurker here looking for the group's thoughts: I'm above 75th LSAT and GPA and UR2 12/3. Well maybe there's still hope, nicknar? It looks like there are a number of us with strong stats still waiting.

LSAT = 75%, GPA >> 75%
UR2 11/17
In at Georgetown, Cornell, uPenn, and uChicago, so no glaring issues with my app.
Live in NY and would really prefer not to uproot wife and kids...
So far complete radio silence from NYU and Columbia...
Not sure what to say.
(Is there ANYTHING to to? Like visit, additional essay, etc.? Or is all that just spinning tires?)

That's true--no news is not bad news, even if other people have already heard good news. Good luck!ThatWouldBeEnough wrote:Well maybe there's still hope, nicknar? It looks like there are a number of us with strong stats still waiting.

Hi guys, sorry if this has already been covered earlier, but how do you sign up for Admitted Student Days? The link "Please RSVP for: March 3 and 4..." on the admitted student website just redirects to the admissions home page instead of an actual RSVP page. Thanks!

Dang. I'm sure they just need time to prep the large bags of $$$ they'll be throwing at you.Po$eidon wrote:mdu wrote:LSAT = 75%, GPA >> 75%

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Is there like a law school visit protocol? I "visited" NYU about a month back hoping to meet with an admissions representative (the front desk lady was like "NO LEAVE THEM ALONE") and wrote my name on the sign in sheet and walked around but that was about it (I live in NY). Doesn't seem like anything I do matters so whatever.sanibella wrote:A visit couldn't hurt, IMO.Po$eidon wrote:mdu wrote:LSAT = 75%, GPA >> 75%

I was admitted about a week before Christmas and still haven't received my admin packet. Is this normal or should I give the school a call?

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
December 1 admit --> no admission packet. Have been getting other stuff lately though, like financial aid info and emails from students, so not too worried about it anymore. Figure it just got lost in the mail but its not like there is anything crucial in there.lolRCscrewyou wrote:I was admitted about a week before Christmas and still haven't received my admin packet. How long does it take after going to UR2 for decision? All over the place I assume?

If I remember correctly, NYU does not offer a travel subsidy for ASW. Anyone wanna correct me on this? Meaning to book the bus soon

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It's need and distance based. You have to email and request the application, which then you fill out and they decide. If you do get it, it's a reimbursement, so you still have to pay for your transportation upfront.earthabides wrote:If I remember correctly, NYU does not offer a travel subsidy for ASW. Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm UR2 on 11/17 as well, in at Georgetown, Duke, Berkeley, uPenn, and uChicago as well. My LSAT is right about at the 25th percentile, so that alone could explain why I'm not hearing anything. I'm completely willing to accept that NYU isn't in love with my LSAT score, but it does seem odd to me that I'm in at Chicago and have yet to hear from NYU. Let me know if you get any news, good or bad.mdu wrote:LSAT = 75%, GPA >> 75%
