What the heck. I saw all these WL's and assumed I would be as well. Nope...still under review.

No decision yet. The way this process is being handled, I have a better shot at getting an offer to become Dean of UVA Admissions.

Waitlisted. Pretty disappointing, considering UVA was one of my top choices and I was above 75th LSAT/GPA. Oh well, may as well ride the waitlist train and see where it takes me.

Re: UVA c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Sorry to hear about the WLs, guys. I've seen some of your stats, though, and you're all great applicants so I'm sure you've got other amazing options!
For those of you still trying to negotiate $$: I emailed the financial aid department last night as I have a few scholarships lapsing today and was hoping to see if they might wiggle - no dice. In a very polite and apologetic email, I was informed that they're still completely out of need + merit aid and that they don't expect any to become available to reallocate during this cycle. The email wrapped up with a brief line about how I'll have to make my decision based on the current offer. I'm still leaning heavily towards UVA but I don't know how much the Dillard deadline passing is going to help in terms of funding becoming available. :/

Do we have to do anything to stay on the waitlist? I didn't see anything in the email.

I'm pretty sure nothing is required… I'm thinking they'll ask people later in the cycle if they want to remain on. But a LOCI wouldn't hurt, I imagine.betty_bojangles wrote:Do we have to do anything to stay on the waitlist? I didn't see anything in the email.

Confirmed that there is just no more space/money available for this year (as of now).lawschool1741 wrote:So...how'd this go?Mack.Hambleton wrote:interested in this as wellggnobbq wrote:wtf? But then he made me an extremely enticing offer, if I'd be willing to defer a year. Basically *just* short of a Dillard.
It was shocking & very exciting after 4 months of total silence. This cycle is totally bizarre. Keep the faith!!!

Kind of sounds like that's the case.... It's probably best to begin the mourning process now.hopeboaltberkeley wrote:So should we consider the rumor that theyre out of spots confirmed?

Fascinated to see what UVA's medians/yield/class size are going to look like for Fall 2015. They seem to be royally blowing this.

Or they're going to look like geniuses. I'm kind of hoping for the latter just for the lulz.White Dwarf wrote:Fascinated to see what UVA's medians/yield/class size are going to look like for Fall 2015. They seem to be royally blowing this.

Which would mean other law schools follow suit. Can you imagine how hysterically shitty that would be for next cycle's applicants?usn26 wrote:Or they're going to look like geniuses. Could you elaborate on this? Meaning the possible implications for next years cycle? I am almost forced to wait a year based on personal reasons, and in the process am passing on some EXTREMELY generous offers that I feel are almost too generous for my numbers.

Don't worry about it; I'm fairly certain UVA just fucked up this cycle, and other law schools won't be in a rush to replicate their formula.theleastdiverse wrote:Hikkomorist wrote:Which would mean other law schools follow suit.
