How are your #s? Mine are pretty marginal, and this waiting until the last minute definitely scares me.beta wrote:

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
For better or worse, here is my [unqualified] assessment of what is going on with the status checker dates:
Since your last status date is probably the date that a decision was made on your file, it doesn't really matter if you have a 12/15 or a 12/12 or a 12/6, etc. If there is no update, it is most likely that a decision was made on that date.
I think the school is just holding the piles together and waiting to release them all at the same time (or within a timeframe) sometime in the next few days (today, even).
Therefore, having a 12/15 as opposed to a 12/12 or a 12/06 doesn't mean anything in terms of admission or denial, it just means it took them a little longer to reach a decision.

Seems like a fair assessment. Hopefully that timeframe is, in fact, todayT00L wrote:For better or worse, here is my [unqualified] assessment of what is going on with the status checker dates:

I think the usual pattern is, if you get accepted, to hear back the day after your 3rd update. So if I don't get a good email tomorrow I'm going to assume deferral.

I haven't updated since the 13th (my 3rd) and am at/above both 75ths with no news. I don't think that is always the case, so don't assume the worst!minnbills wrote:I think the usual pattern is, if you get accepted, to hear back the day after your 3rd update. Anyone else get the Washington & Lee mailer in the last few days? I think there's definitely something going on between that girl and the prof... she's got this dreamy look in her eyes as she looks at him...

Yeah I updated 11/11, then 12/12 and immediately 12/13 but haven't heard back yet. I am also above both 75ths and wrote a pretty good (and honest) Why Cornell, so I don't think it means deferral (or at least I hope not)luxxe wrote:I haven't updated since the 13th (my 3rd) and am at/above both 75ths with no news. Yep, same. Not to be negative, but it looks like us 12/15ers are more marginal than the 12/13ers...emkay625 wrote:just updated to 12/15. splitter below gpa floor.
