+1.

Let us play our cards with our cycles and you play yours. If you dont like it then retake. Im not even considering withdrawing from BU, this is just a general gripe I have. I'm on the Cornell WL but I dont bitch at them to withdraw - kudos to them for having more impressive numbers than me, they've earned the right to do whatever they want with their acceptances.
Both of you are comletely missing my point. Of course you should be weighing you options and playing your cards. I was not implying that anyone should rush their decision. As per the original statement
"In today around 2:30

I'll probably be withdrawing soon so I hope one of you WL-ers can take my spot."
This clearly states that he will probably withdraw. From this you can deduce that such a decision had already been pondered, options weighed, better offers available etc etc. MY questions was based off of this statement of intent. If the OP had no intent of attending, why had he not withdrawn his application earlier. HOWEVER, he answered this question concisely and sufficiently with his initial response. That was all that was needed. He had a reason. I was not rushing, I was inquiring about a thought proccess. So once again, the arguement you are having was not brought by me. I can understand your frustration with being asked to constantly withdraw or being rushed, and I'm glad I inadvertently helped you to vent that out. But directing your frustrations at me just seems unnecessary. Anyway, Enjoy weighing your options. Best of luck if anything is pending.

She

Also, I'm still waiting on one school I won't go to, because it's my right. And I feel like I went through the process of putting together an application. They can go through the process of giving me an answer, even if that answer is no.

I'm an undergrad at BU...I can't really articulate why but it was important for me to apply and get in. I've also just heard from my top choices in the past week so I haven't had much time to withdraw anyway.

And like I said, I'll probably be withdrawing. BU is still an option for me. I don't think I owe it to anyone to rush my decision so they can get off the WL faster.
I didn't say you did. I was merely curious of the logic behind what you said, which you adequately explained in your first three sentences.

As for you, Subtle, you have no part in this. I asked him an honest question based off of a lack of information. He gave me the answer. End of story. You're opinions on people's "obligations" (which were never the topic anyway) are irrelivant.
I apologize if I got the wrong vibe from you or whatever but (regardless of your "not trying to be rude" disclaimer) I definitely felt that you came off as accusatory and well, rude.

Given that this is a public board I don't see any problem with Subtle choosing to chime in. If you didn't want anyone else to participate in the conversation you should have sent me a private message.

BTW: I'm not a "he." I'm very much a lady.
Sorry about the gender confusion. It permeates my previous post too. You are correct, I should have PM'd the question. I wasn't so much concerned with the chiming in, but more the accusatory nature (guess that's going around) of subtle's post. Didn't seem verry subtle... see what i did there?

Once again. Best of luck with your options.

Hi,

does anyone know what is the appropriate response to their phone call. So I did not pick up since I was at work and I got the voice mail. Should I send a sweet short e-mail acknowledging and thanking them or considering how busy they are, that is not necessary.

Itd probably be best to not do anything.

1. Don't call them back.
2. Call your friends.
3. Celebrate.

I just got an email from BU asking me to forward some court documents (that I'm not even sure I have) about a minor in possession I got a few years ago before my application can continue to the admissions board. Is this normal?

I disclosed everything in my application and have received acceptances (UT, Emory, USC etc) without any questions. My application has been complete since mid-Jan, and I'm just considering withdrawing my app. Do I just send a reply to the email saying I want to withdraw if that's what I opt for?

Oh and congrats to everyone that got in today.

For anyone who read the case for the mock class (or went to the 3/5 ASD):

I live in Tampa, and just saw my mom had a webpage open for Arthur Murray dance studio to sign up for lessons. I immediately shouted out "Mom NO!"
