Wait, so I am DR 12/1 too, any chance at all it's an acceptance? UR 11/11, UR 11/24, DR 12/1

I always thought schools generally don't send out huge amounts of rejections this early in the cycle?? Pleeeeeasseee I need one school

P.S. to add to the URM theory, possibly, im an international applicant, while not the same as URM, they may group those in different group as well, and then send out decisions for those?

Well, according to LSN the first batch of rejects was 11/28 last year, so who knows.

I don't know for sure about international apps but I seem to think they would be in with the rest of the regular apps. Although I am also holding out hope (very small...very small) that because EDs are in a separate batch and nobody ED received a DR yesterday, DR today might not necessarily mean reject.

International may be different as may non-trad, which I am, so this may be the not-ordinary bunch (urm/int'l/non-trad/pt). If it is a reject, how cool that they reject you as a rd before they even finish their ed answers? Awesome...

YES, that's what I was wondering.. If rejections are by e-mails, shouldn't at least some of us have received the e-mail already, if this was a rejection or mixed batch? My # are not a foot in the door or anything, LSP put me at consider, I'm holding out hope, but prepare for the worst

from the LSN decisions on 12/1 last year, 4/5 were accepted
similar to this year, last year there was a big accept wave the weekend before 12/1. so maybe a hope? Not to set ourselves up for a disappointment, just think that DR doesn't necessarily have to mean it's a reject, in particular due to the proportion of URMs with good #

EDIT: Personally, I believe I received a rejection. Just think that my # aren't good enough to warrant such a fast admit w/o longer consideration

Well, I hate to jinx anything, but if I was forced to guess honestly I'd say this leans non-ordinary accept or deferral. But ill keep my pessimism just because I personally am a go either way candidate numbers-wise.

I would imagine that turning down the interview is a bad idea. They only send these requests to a few people, and it probably means they need some more information before they're ready to accept you. Denying them that information can't possibly help your case.

according to LSN from last year, rejections and deferrals are by e-mail. Most of them seem to have come the same day as DR, but some came delayed (up to 4 days)

I wouldn't, it was just a hypothetical. It may have been answered, but do these interviews have a specific form to them, or is it entirely up to the alumnus/a who is giving it?

K, so I checked out the thread from last year.

It's been very similar with a late November (11/28) round of acceptances and then a 12/1 round with acceptances, waitlists and rejections

Definitely confirms my suspicions. I tend to be overly paranoid about things and just wanted to make sure.
