Ya, let's hope UHLC doesn't go Ghana on us.
Maybe if we organize and all stand outside of the admissions office with vuvuzelas for a few days they'll relent and let us in...

Re: In at University of Houston
anybody else get an email on friday asking if still interested for waitlist? I replied and am anxiously waiting for their decision. I see one person got admitted to PT on friday, so i guess my stats are a bit lower. *crossing fingers*

I am a PT applicant, and I did not get an email. Maybe these are next considerations....texag08 wrote:i got the same email. Was this a blanket email sent to all ptmers or are we under serious consideration??

Did you send in a LOCI? I think that may have taken the place of the email. It was only trying to guage the interest level of the respective applicant.

Early-mid June they sent out a similar e-mail to FT waitlist applicants.texag08 wrote:Did you send in a LOCI? I think that may have taken the place of the email. It was only trying to guage the interest level of the respective applicant.

Yes, I sent a LOCI. So does it appear that it went only to those PTs who had not sent a LOCI?

Re: In at University of Houston
for the sake of full disclosure, i sent in an loci about end of may, and received the email this past friday, as well as a call, so I am not sure what this means. do I have a better chance? who knows.raperez129 wrote:texag08 wrote:Did you send in a LOCI? Not that anyone has said anything absolutely damning on here, but nonetheless a reminder to be cautious.
Funny thing, that freedom of speech.

Looks like the admissions blog post scared everyone away
Just wanted to tell you guys I FINALLY received my decision last friday so there is movement going on. I got the ding, not even a WL. I came to terms with things over the weekend but it still stings.
Wish the rest of you guys luck, especially those on the WL. Maybe I'll see some of you around campus, I'm starting the UH MBA program next month.

Sorry to hear about the ding, but at the same time congrats on the MBA program. Either way, by starting that program you're moving in a new direction as far as your professional/academic career is concerned.
Wish you the best of luck!

Grats hjl47 - I'm back to furiously checking my online status like a hawk this month.
It's been a long journey, and regardless of how things turn out, I'm glad I found TLS. It definitely helped me curb/vent some of the massive angst throughout the long admissions cycle.
To those who got in, relish the opportunity you have to embark on a new chapter in your life and career.
I'll post one last time this cycle with my final results, but best of luck and well wishes to all of you!

I sent in my withdrawl on July 6th I just forgot to post here. I was in the full time program and had 15k scholarship. I'll be packing up my bags soon and moving from Houston to St. Louis to attend WUSTL. Good luck to those still waiting.

Posted this in the other thread, but I don't know how many people check that one.
If anyone's interested in playing a round at one of the local courses in the few days leading up to orientation, let's get together. I'm thinking Memorial Park or Hermann Park, both of which are relatively affordable. I know Razorbacksomethingoranother said he'd be interested. Don't know how many golfers we have on here but this would be a nice way to kick back and meet a few folks.
