Mine was not with JS either and it took a similar direction. i'd hate to speculate, but I imagine that JS gets a little more leeway in running the interview, whereas those who need to report back to her don't.morimoto1991 wrote:i had my interview a few weeks back, and i didnt find mine to be very conversational...was more like a job interview. mine wasn't with JS though. does anyone else feel this way?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Am I the only one reading too into this, from the HLS Admissions blog:
http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/admissions ... s-process/
"I review all of these files and decide who we invite for an interview and at what point in the cycle to send out that invitation."
This shows that JS1s could be automated, and also shows that you could be assigned a JS1 at a much later date in the cycle, but not even know it...
Hopefully this makes it easier for people worried about not receiving a JS1 yet in relation to their completion date.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I don't think JS1s are automated. I can't find it exactly, but in last year's thread there was a correlation between complete to JS1 date and LSAT/GPA. Those with higher stats typically get interviews faster than those with lower stats - which shouldn't be surprising.nejlas wrote:This shows that JS1s could be automated, and also shows that you could be assigned a JS1 at a much later date in the cycle, but not even know it...
It also means that they go back and send out JS1 invitations later on in the cycle to earlier applicants, which is promising.

Uh oh... This is the first I'm hearing of this. Is this a well-known thing?Harvette wrote:This year's timeline is a bit different. But many interviews conducted later in the cycle feel rushed and not personable.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Hey all, I'm new to these forums so sorry if I mess up some sort of etiquette.
Hopefully it's useful information that I got an email invite to interview today, so they are in fact going out this week. Mine was from Joshua Mauro though, so I have no idea about who this Jessica person is... (I'm a 175/3.79 as far as H knows)
Probably going to set a slot for about a week from now. I know this is probably somewhere in the 78 pages of this topic, but is there a website or resource that's best for preparing for the interview?

My interview invite came two months after going complete, and I'm above both 75ths. I am a KJD, however. But don't give up hope.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Who else has given up all hope

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I can't figure out why they would have that one small wave of JS2's and then none for a few weeks. Out of curiosity, what's the virtue of letting thirty or so people in in December and then staying quiet for so long? I could understand big staggered waves or small constant waves but this seems to be neither.

Maybe shortage of staff.

Congrats on the interview! Jessica Soban is the "Assistant Dean and Chief Admissions Officer" of HLS. Here are the bios of the admissions staff (I think the bios of those conducting interviews are also here): http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/admissions ... ions-team/Orion311 wrote:Hopefully it's useful information that I got an email invite to interview today, so they are in fact going out this week. We don't, but it's probably a safe (if not conservative) estimate. My guess is 40.Seoulless wrote:How do we know its only 30 or so?
Warning - the following is very rudimentary:
From HorseThief's numbers of interview slots, they've conducted approx. 300 interviews. On TLS, 77 people have reported JS1s. That's ~25%. If you extrapolate that for JS2s, there were 10 people on TLS who reported acceptance. So, 10/25% = 40.

Just had my JS1 interview. As a K-JD, I became quite sad when the interviewer started
grilling me on my lack of experience.
