They're not rushing on my application. Submitted 11/12, complete 12/12. and...... nothing. Again, I'm just happy I didn't get auto-rejected. I'm hoping I have some small chance.

Just to be sure I understand- The status never changes from "your application is complete", the date just updates?

After receiving the admission email, how long has it typically been taking before receiving merit scholarship info (if any)? How does that information arrive?

I don't think Cornell has released any scholarship information except for people who were invited to apply for full-rides. I'm wondering when scholarships start coming for the rest of us as well.risa wrote:After receiving the admission email, how long has it typically been taking before receiving merit scholarship info (if any)? Question on Cornell FAFSA ---
Is the Cornell Law Financial Aid Information Sheet only for accepted students? I could have sworn it was for all prospective students who wished to be considered for institutional aid but the website says that you should turn it only when accepted, and for those accepted after the March 15 deadline, a new deadline would be released.

The FAFSA is the federal financial aid application (Stafford loans, Grad Plus, etc.), so you're talking about two different things. FAFSA you can fill out now regardless of acceptance; schools request that as they are evaluating federal loan eligibility in the summer. The Cornell Law Financial Aid Information Sheet I believe is for accepted students, but that doesn't mean you can't fill it out and get it ready to submit asap after you are accepted. It's pretty straightforward; Need Access is much longer so I would do that first.Jonathk1 wrote:Question on Cornell FAFSA ---

On that note, the Cornell financial aid form online says 2012 and that 2013 forms will be available in mid-January. Am I missing something? Have other people just submitted the 2012 form? I'm assuming it's not any different.
ETA: Looks like the form online is up to date; the website just hasn't been updated to reflect that yet.

Came home to one of those pink slips that say "sorry we missed you" from the postal service. Cornell was listed as the sender. I wonder what it was. Ive already received their admissions packet.

I received a package today of a hard cover book of admissions info, bigger than the initial admissions packet, so it was probably that. It's pretty nice.timeandspace11 wrote:Came home to one of those pink slips that say "sorry we missed you" from the postal service. Cornell was listed as the sender. I wonder what it was. Still haven't gone complete at Cornell, though I applied on 1/24. I thought this was an anomaly until I creeped through this thread, and found out they seem to kind of take their time before marking applications as complete.
Since I live less than an hour from Ithaca, I kind of feel like driving up there, poking my head through the door, and going "HEY....you get that thing I sent ya?" Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law style. If anyone in the office gets the reference, I will immediately bump Cornell to #1 choice. Valid plan?

I had my third update today. How solid has this three update theory played out so far? If it's as legit as Georgetown's I'm extremely happy right now!

Just got the "we haven't forgotten about you!" Email and it says they HOPE to get to my application in the coming WEEKS. Am I looking at early march decision? And when are Cornell's ASW(s?)?

Placed in reserve via e-mail this morning. Not suprised. Knew I was headed down this road when I applied.
166/3.8/Non-URM, 6 years as a Marine Officer, Strong Softs, Extensive Leadership Experience, Combat Deployment.
At least they made some sort of decision, instead of keeping me in eternal purgatory like several other schools.
