*finally* went complete this evening. 1/7 to 1/29 was quite a jump and I'm afraid probably puts me out of contention for $$$ given the super-late complete date. Sigh.

At the risk of getting my own hopes up again, it looks like there were quite a few letters mailed on 1/25 last year--which was the same day the first VCEs started arriving--and arrived on 1/27.

Since the first NCEs arrived on a Saturday this year, I think this supports my earlier theory that they mailed another batch on Monday because they (probably) didn't come into work on Saturday. And a few of the 1/27 people received Hamiltons, to boot.

Then one person had a letter postmarked 1/26, and the next batch had letters postdated 1/31 or 2/1. So all hope is not lost.

I hope you are right but don't you feel like this years first batch is a lot bigger than last years?

Hey, man, I know the feeling. You're not the only one having a crummy cycle. We just need to keep focused on the goal, which is presumably to have a successful career coming out of law school. And that's what you'll do with Chicago or NYU.

Riiiight, and it just so happens that no one at Duke, NU, or NYU looked at anything in your app before admitting you. (Although I would believe that last one.)

i am almost certain nyu looks at the two numbers and goes BOOM YOU'RE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because i feel like they move at too fast a pace to do anything else.

To be fair, people suspect 171 was last year's median and the last released median GPA was 3.71
