I actually emailed about something relating to merit aid, and their response was that merit scholarship decisions are made on a rolling basis, and they expect to have the bulk of their selections made in March. I get the feeling that not too many non-named merit aid decisions have gone out yet, so I wouldn't necessarily count yourself out. At least...that's the hope I'm clinging to...RSterling wrote:I was a first round admit and I still have not heard anything regarding merit-aid. Is it safe to say that it's not coming my way? Eh, this is good to know. I didn't realize that merit came out alongside need as well, so I'll wait for that at least. Thanks!02889 wrote:Outside of name scholarships, they send out need/merit combined awards starting in March. Someone here posted that it's usually 2-3 weeks after UCR2 that decisions come and also that it's usually Thursdays or Fridays that they make phone calls. I'm hoping week 3 will be it for me (UCR2 1/22).sd1234 wrote:sorry if someone has mentioned this earlier in the thread, but its a lot of pages to search through :/ is there any consensus on how long after UCR2 if usually is for a decision? i was UCR1 2/5 and UCR2 today (2/11).

I'm stuck at UCR1 1/17. Anyone else with me? What's the consensus on our situation?

Weren't you going to go ahead and start negotiating with Penn? Have you emailed/called them yet? Very curious to see how it turns out as Penn is my top choice and we have other offers from the same schools if I recall.02889 wrote:Outside of name scholarships, they send out need/merit combined awards starting in March. I emailed Penn my UVA offer.
They just said it'll be added to my file. I don't think it can hurt to email before awards come out.

Just updated my status checker to waitlist, no email yet but may be stuck in spam... I was UCR2 at 1/15
slightly discouraging that they don't start reviewing WL candidates until mid-May.

Just waitlisted as well. It's a bummer because Penn was my absolute number one. I think I got my hopes up too high because applications are down, but my cycle has been sans miracles.
Anyone know if we should wait until closer to "mid-May" to send in a LOCI?

They said this last year too, but most (all maybe, I'm not totally sure) of the non-named merit scholarship offers came out the same week in early April. I'd expect the same this year.WinterIsHere wrote:I actually emailed about something relating to merit aid, and their response was that merit scholarship decisions are made on a rolling basis, and they expect to have the bulk of their selections made in March.
