Feel free to send that LRAP info my way if you get the chance. Much appreciated.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:I spoke with the LRAP-specific folks and have information for anyone interested in the LRAP (for PI/SJ) and, with that I also bring a question.
Has anyone heard anything, at all, about how UW's OCI was last year or has been historically? I poked around on Google for a while and didn't really find anything.

Status Checker shows Decision letter mailed on 2/28. I emailed UW about decision to my application and they did not reply. Does this mean I should expact a ding or waitlist?

Has anyone received any sort of scholarship yet?! I'm still trying to figure out how UW is going to fill the majority of its seats with those who have already been admitted without throwing some cash around. Looking at LSN, it seems like the majority of those admitted have or will be receiving money at more prestigious schools... I know Seattle is great, but does it really have the pull to beat out T20-T25 schools with $$$???

I dunno the answer, but I wonder it too. I submitted my scholarship form (essay) about 2 days after I got admitted (so a few weeks ago) and haven't heard a peep. Now that I have an offer for a 50% grant at a competing school I think I am going to put some pressure on 'em.JakeL wrote:Has anyone received any sort of scholarship yet?! W pretty much owns the PNW (I mean what's the next highest-ranked LS?) so I guess with that stranglehold they feel like they can be extra-selective. Either that or they have a big USNWR rankings push coming. Who knows!

Do you really think UW owns the PNW? They are in the driver's seat for Puget Sound, but I don't know much about Portland and Spokane.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:I dunno the answer, but I wonder it too. if that is the case, and you check it every 5 minutes then they will probably accept you based on shown interest right?TreeHugger20 wrote:I wonder if they can see how many times a day I check my status...

The Gonzaga Mafia definitely exists here in Spokane.JakeL wrote: Do you really think UW owns the PNW? They are in the driver's seat for Puget Sound, but I don't know much about Portland and Spokane.
That being said, I'm still leaning toward UW over Gonzaga's full ride. TBF, that's mostly because I'm not certain I want to be stuck in Spokane for the next 3 / 5 / 10 / forever years. However, UW is still UW, even if most people over here root against them in the Apple Cup. They know who the better school is, they just don't care.

Lol never heard "GU Mafia" before, but yea I would take UW sticker over GU full ride in a heartbeat. The sense of UW/Husky superiority is worth the cost alone (full disclosure I'm a UW UG alum).Flett wrote:The Gonzaga Mafia definitely exists here in Spokane.

How are you planning on putting on the pressure? I've been seriously considering phoning their FinAid department to see what their process is and emphasize that I need to hear back from them before April 8th. The "wait till all applications come in" process they took with admissions has me worried that it's going to be the same way for scholarships.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:I dunno the answer, but I wonder it too.
