I don't understand why SMU is so slow. They are killing my dreams of staying in TX for law school.jacketman03 wrote:Me, but only since December, so not that bad considering.thewarflamingo wrote:Still waiting...since October...OklahomasOK wrote:Anyone still waiting? I got the Sarah T Hughes. I am still shell-shocked. I am sure I sounded like a fool on the phone.

Re: SMU 2011
SMU must have a crush on LSAT scores.
I submitted like day of deadline (Feb 15) and was notified of my admission first week of march by phone call, and received a packet with 25k scholly offer in it a few days later.
my stats were 3.25 UGPA, 173 LSAT.
So those of you with over 164 LSAT, you probably have a better chance, they seem to be very actively trying to raise that median. Must've had a lot of applicants with high GPAs this year.
Good Luck to everyone, I'm sure they'll be making their final decisions for everything within a few days, considering how seat deposits are due in a week.

Re: SMU 2011
Does anyone know if SMU will grant an extension for their first deposit deadline? I'm considering SMU, but I don't want to pay a deposit without visiting, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to visit before April 1.
I emailed admissions, but no answer...

Has anyone with a 164 LSAT been accepted recently? People with 164 and below seem to be the ones getting held for review.

Re: SMU 2011
If you look on the thread from last year, I think all the 164s got held then too. Honestly our cycle matched up almost exactly date wise as the cycle before us, so you can probably get a good idea for when the 164s got notified by going through last years thread.renee88 wrote:Has anyone with a 164 LSAT been accepted recently? It looks like they are trying to bump medians.
Also, if any of you were there in Property today for the Sumner's thing, don't worry, it's usually not THAT excruciatingly painful.

Got a response: No extension. No love.AP-375 wrote:Does anyone know if SMU will grant an extension for their first deposit deadline? I'm considering SMU, but I don't want to pay a deposit without visiting, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to visit before April 1.

I'm more than a little frustrated by this, especially since I explained that I received a need-based LSAC waiver (only legitimizing my petition for assistance) and and it will be a financial difficulty to travel, stay in a hotel, and then drop another $250 on a seat deposit all on the same weekend. Frustrated, SMU. Frustrated. /calm rant

I did. I had a lunch thing with a couple judges, and that was far more valuable than her inane ramblings on easements.

I watched rap videos on Youtube on mute, and took notes whenever she talked about the cases.kalvano wrote:I did. I had a lunch thing with a couple judges, and that was far more valuable than her inane ramblings on easements.
