Good luck though, there were a few people with that much money on the table on LSN with very similar numbers to yours.

Did you tell them what you are trying to accomplish?

Yeah, I was pretty blunt about what I had on the table and what I was looking for. They said 28k and 30k are their biggest non-Fletcher offers this year. I think we all knew that there were 30k offers :D. I even inquired about what the Fletcher entailed (though I'd guess I have a >2% chance at such a scholly).

Oh, well, nothing to do now but wait and maybe ring Melanie once more.

I was accepted well before 3-17...still waiting for a fin aid/scholarship award (if any) letter.

Did they give any indication? They tend to be pretty straight-up people.

Well, they basically just said wait and see, but I took the tone of the conversation as quite positive and hopeful.

Well, Wake actually seems to understand that major, life-changing decisions are on the line and doesn't screw around. I'll bet they let you know soon.

I totally agree, and they said they are racing to figure out what they have and what they can give by the end of the week. Considering the postmark deadline for the recipients was April 1, the end of this week would be an amazing turn-around.

I still haven't gotten a decision yet. My app was in towards the end of Dec. I know that it wasn't exactly early but still you'd think I'd have a decision by now.

Anyone else still waiting?

I called Thursday. I went under review 2/15 and they said I could expect a decision in the next 3-4 business days. I also posted a few days ago (Thurs maybe) about why they've been slower than usual.

unfortunately i visited at the end of february when there was no snow and no flower/trees blooming. though the administration mentioned a couple of times about the beautiful campus, all i saw was brown. :|

I think im more anxious about receiving word about a scholarship that I was about getting my lsat score. Thank God I have an incredibly busy work/coaching week to keep my mind off it.

Also, I was really impressed by the school. I think my opinion of the school was unfairly swayed by the day. It was 85 and sunny with a light breeze, and all of the flowering trees and shrubs had just bloomed. The campus looked just unbelievable because of those circumstances. However, I also liked the school and the facilities. Student vibe was pretty good as well. However, without (minimum) 28k, I'm likely not coming. With a scholarship, my paring down process will be thrown back into chaos.
right on! I'd be shocked if you didn't get a $$ offer. Good luck. And if things don't pan out, W&L at 8k is pretty damn good =).

Is anyone else thinking of asking Wake for a deferral or have any experiences with deferral policies?

Committee Review 3/2.. still no answer. How long does it usually take?? Also, when are you notified about scholarship money, if any?

What are your numbers? I didn't apply until 2/28 and they WL'd me last week. Pretty quick turnaround.

Soooo, I received a phone call from 336 758 5000 while I was in class today (came in at 4:48 central time zone). No voicemail, but apparently the call came from NC. I checked the area code, and Winston-Salem would be included. I called the number back and apparently it is from Wake Forest (didn't say College of Law or anything) but they are closed right now so there is no one to answer the call.

Anyone else receive a call?! What could this be in regards to!?

I just received a call from the same #. It was a 1L calling to congratulate me, and offering to answer any questions. She was friendly but I didn't really ask much. That being said, I got her e-mail address just in case I think of something later.

Yeah, I got a call. It's just to personalize their recruitment efforts and to answer any questions you might have.

No news on scholarships.

Same. I think it's interesting that they're using a 1L vs 2/3.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
