I'm not sure if this has been answered before but what is the process for students who do not have laptops? Do we take out extra loan money? If so, how do we go about applying for that?

I could if my significant other that's coming with me is able to get a job. But if not I'm going to be on a really tight budget and would rather have the extra money to get a laptop with.

I got the impression that last year there were five sections as a result of over-enrollment...How many sections do you anticipate having this year? Are there noticeable differences for us, as students, with five sections versus four? Thanks!

Yeah. Dealing with personal debt in LS is going to be a bitch. My plan is to front load it and live like a pauper first year. It remains to be seen if this is feasible; I'm still not sure what the CoL difference from where I live now will do to my budget.

Let's put it this way - I don't know if I can make it work at ALL, much less front load it to kill it. Unemployment was pretty rough on my debt. I seriously hope I don't have to drop out for money reasons. COL barely covers my debt obligations each month.

In all fairness, a chunk of that monthly obligation goes towards car payment and insurance.

Actually, last year the class was split into 4 sections (A-D) and 6 sections (1-6). Half of your classes are in the larger sections, half in the smaller sections. That is the way it will be again this year. We have grown the faculty over the past three years that we can have a larger enrollment and still have small classes. It worked very well last year, as there was a little more intermingling of the class.

How is this comparing to last year? Any idea?

Not sure on the exact numbers but Career Services mentioned that some of the employers they lost last year have "come back". Interpret that how you will.

I'm reading this right now. It's pretty mind-boggling.

I can't believe summer has gone by so quickly. In just a few short weeks I'll be moving; I can't wait!

Did everyone get the newsletter today. It says class schedules will be sent the first week of August! I can't wait, I'm so excited to start school.

When are we going to find out about our GradPlus loans? I thought they said mid-July? My credit is terrible and I'm really worried I might get denied. I wish we would hear something already.

I didn't apply for Gplus loans, so I haven't done too much research on them, but from everything that I have read, it seems pretty hard to be rejected. If I remember correctly, you need to have current outstanding claims on your record to keep from being accepted.
