About the 30 percent of JR1's who dont get JR2's- what are their stats like. Are they borderline applicants who may be placed on hold until the cycle is almost finished? Or are they also "lock ins" who for whatever reason just dont get JR2?

I got my JR2 on 11/23 and don't think I've received my letter yet (I was overseas until this week, and don't think an envelope has arrived at my school or home address). To others in the first batch of JR2's--have you all gotten your letters? Should I e-mail admissions and ask for my login, etc.?

i got mine, but there's no harm in waiting a few more days before calling admissions.generals10 wrote:I got my JR2 on 11/23 and don't think I've received my letter yet (I was overseas until this week, and don't think an envelope has arrived at my school or home address). I can't really speak for others, but I had an early JR1 (11/03), but no JR2 yet. Stats: 4.0/170 & fairly strong softs - I guess you can totally consider me borderline.Rmosk wrote:About the 30 percent of JR1's who dont get JR2's- what are their stats like. But I wrote the LSAT again yesterday...hopefully, it will get me in with a higher score.

so does JR ask about perceived weaknesses in your application? (eg, if you have multiple Ws or didn't participate in many ECs or whatever) or is it more about your strengths?

Re: Harvard 2010!
guys, can i make a polite request? crackberry mentioned this earlier, but i think those of us who are still hoping to get in would prefer if talk in this thread remained about that sort of thing, rather than about already-admitted type stuff. the admits have two threads already, and i think a bunch of people in this one will get a bit bummed out by talk among people already admitted, even if it's really basic logistical stuff like thiscapitalacq wrote:i got mine, but there's no harm in waiting a few more days before calling admissions.generals10 wrote:I got my JR2 on 11/23 and don't think I've received my letter yet (I was overseas until this week, and don't think an envelope has arrived at my school or home address). Doesn't really ask either question, just sticks to his 3 ones of: "what are you doing right now in college/work?", "why do u want to go to LS?", and "why HLS specifically?"somewhatwayward wrote:so does JR ask about perceived weaknesses in your application? Re: Harvard 2010!
This comment is true, but he did ask about a specific psychology internship listed on my application and resume as my sole "job" or extracurricular activity. Since many applicants probably had substantial professional experience, I suppose that you could consider this question an attempt to address a perceived weakness.SolarWind wrote:Doesn't really ask either question, just sticks to his 3 ones of: "what are you doing right now in college/work?", "why do u want to go to LS?", and "why HLS specifically?"somewhatwayward wrote:so does JR ask about perceived weaknesses in your application? I feel a URM batch going out this week. Especially after the deluge of Thanksgiving break submissions.GeePee wrote:Likelihood of another round of JR1 offers tomorrow?

Don't know. But I'm hoping for one: I submitted my app on 11/16 and went "under review" on 11/30.GeePee wrote:Likelihood of another round of JR1 offers tomorrow?

I submitted a week later and have yet to go UR according to the status checker. I'm hoping more for movement of any kind than for my own JR1 (although it would be niceDignan wrote:Don't know. No JR1. I must have messed something up on my app or I'm just a really unimpressive 173/3.9.
Hope fading fast.

Seems like there hasn't been any movement in awhile... Any JR1s come out recently?

I'm in the 11/19 complete batch, too! Don't give up hope. Come on board the USS Optimism and hopefully we'll see some JR1's this week.forza wrote:Sent: 10/28

I'm in that batch, although me not getting a JR1 wouldn't really mean anything. Nevertheless, I wonder how long I can survive on USS Optimism...Laina wrote:I'm in the 11/19 complete batch, too! Re: Harvard 2010!
First batch was about 3 weeks ago and I assume a lot of URMs submit over Thanksgiving break. I just figure we're due for another one. Also, I'll be hearing back from my ED in the next two weeks, so I'm hoping to get a JR1 email before then so I can switch that app to RD.PoorOrpheus wrote:I hope you're correct, but what makes you suspect this?hopefulundergrad wrote:I feel a URM batch going out this week. Cool, I didn't think that you could switch it after submission.hopefulundergrad wrote:First batch was about 3 weeks ago and I assume a lot of URMs submit over Thanksgiving break.
