Nope. Reserve = waitlist, held = keeping your application open but to one side whilst they review others, to later come back to yourslunixer wrote:Is this Columbia's term for waitlist? Can't remember from last cycle.boomboompap wrote:held today

o columbia, pls relieve me of this loathsome existence. too long have i white-knuckled thru waves of rejects, reserves, and holds, only for a lonely fly to spin out from my empty e-mail inbox. with courage, now, i welcome your kind knife or happy dagger. let me suffer your slings and arrows; give me a fardel to bear!

Have any of those that have been held or put on reserve apply early? I'm still indecisive about following up with admissions.

Checked earlier today and was definitely still only "complete," but just got admit email.
did anyone else just skip right over the "under review" stage?

Didn't have one. Anyone know roughly how often they admit without interviewing? Does it have any positive correlation with scholarship monies (plz god)?hopeful94 wrote:Congrats! Congrats to you! If no interview, when did you go complete, if you don't mind sharing?frasier wrote:Didn't have one. Anyone know roughly how often they admit without interviewing? Congrats sir/madam! I believe they admit pretty often without interviewing. As for your second question, I'm not sure, but I do know that if you had gotten a Butler (half ride) or Hamilton (full ride) it would have been in your admit email. 95% sure on that.frasier wrote:Didn't have one. Named scholarships seem to require an interview. You can get big money without one, but you won't get a full ride.frasier wrote:Didn't have one. ^that's actually inaccurate. It seems crazy, but there have been multiple reports this cycle of people receiving both Butlers and Hamiltons without ever receiving an interview invite.

I was one of those people who rec'd a Butler with no interview. And no email, cuz Columbia wanted to make me nauseous for an extra 6 days. I'm not bitter or anything....jetsfan1 wrote:Yep Ender's completely correct on this.EnderWiggin wrote:^that's actually inaccurate. That's surprising. Honestly I haven't been following the Columbia thread very closely, so I was just going off of my general LS application knowledge.EnderWiggin wrote:^that's actually inaccurate. Who is strong enough to get a Hamilton without even interviewing? A 4.0/180 astronaut?

+180. Only if he's a Fulbright and an olympian.RZ5646 wrote:That's surprising.
