I know last year some prospective RTKs were still waiting at the end of February to hear about admission, and later went on to be invited to RTK interviews.bkforlife wrote:Does anyone know, based on past years, if there's any hope for RTK/other scholarship consideration for someone who hasn't heard back regarding admission at this point?

Ok good. I'm not really holding out that much hope but wanted to know if it was totally hopeless at this point hahacannonballer wrote:I know last year some prospective RTKs were still waiting at the end of February to hear about admission, and later went on to be invited to RTK interviews.bkforlife wrote:Does anyone know, based on past years, if there's any hope for RTK/other scholarship consideration for someone who hasn't heard back regarding admission at this point?

Have any accepted students been contacted by an alum? My alum was a freaky good match and I almost got the feel they were scoping me out as part of the named scholarship process? I might just be over thinking this though... like everything else

Not to shoot down your speculation, but I was contacted by an alum who was very nice but not a freaky good match. I would guess matched based on geography in my case.tflan19 wrote:Have any accepted students been contacted by an alum? Okay, I guess I was overzealous! The alum said something weird and then took it back so I was just overly suspicious of the whole thing.GrumpyYellowOgre wrote:Not to shoot down your speculation, but I was contacted by an alum who was very nice but not a freaky good match. It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that your alum might have some feedback on the scholarship, but I don't think that's a primary purpose of the meeting. I think some people have just been luckier than other in terms of being matched with alums.tflan19 wrote:

I'd definitely think so. If I remember correctly, those scholarship interview invites go out in the 3rd week in February or so. The interviews for AnBryce/RTK are the end of March.bkforlife wrote:Does anyone know, based on past years, if there's any hope for RTK/other scholarship consideration for someone who hasn't heard back regarding admission at this point?

UR- 12/7, UR1- 12/29... at what point should I become concerned? I know some people have been UR since October but at what point am I justified in feeling neglected?

Is the "alumni match" based on geography?
I haven't received anything concerning this and am wondering why that might be.

I applied on the 5th, so you may as well if you have a waiver. The worse they can say is no, right?GreekOmega12 wrote:Do you all think it's too late to apply? URM if that matters

Same... In with first wave and haven't heard anything about alum matches. But to be fair I go to school in an area quite devoid of NYU alumnijb1512 wrote:Is the "alumni match" based on geography?

Its just an alum contacting you and offering to chat/answer questions! Mine wasn't in my area currently but we had career interest/undergrad matches. If you don't hear from an alum don't stress, I don't think it means anything.texasellewoods wrote:Same... In with first wave and haven't heard anything about alum matches. status DLS. Can't access ASW. The phone number I gave them is a cell phone that is currently turned off because I'm travelling.
Snail mail, really? REALLY?
I hope they e-mail me. International students get e-mails, right?
Edited: Just so other people who are obsessively checking the status checker / ASW, my status checker date changed today, and I could access the ASW @ 1 EST. If they changed my status when the admissions office opened, that's a 4-5 hour gap. Haven't received any e-mail communication.
Edited V2: Also got the e-mail today- they said they are e-mailing international students

Haven't received any communication from an alum but I did get a nice e-mail from a current NYU student on Friday.jb1512 wrote:Is the "alumni match" based on geography?

It could be that if there's not an alum who the admissions office is in contact with in your area that they've asked a student to reach out and they just haven't gotten around to it. Either way, I don't think it means anything re: scholarships/their interest in you attending. Just a nice touch if it does happen!

Does anyone know if they announce program specific scholarships with the decision letter?

Usually the scholarship notifications are separate from admissions letters and come in/around February (maybe early March?).tflan19 wrote:Nope!
