I hope I don't have to make that decision....
Yeah I mean I literally can't go without a scholarship and I hate to give up on Georgetown but this whole "alternate" list has got thrown me for a loop[/quote]

I didn't get any info about scholarships until after I emailed them about it. Now I have one.
THANK YOU for sharing this! I had no idea. Sent an email now, so fingers crossed.

Do you email the Admissions Committee? Or the financial aid office?

In the same boat with you again, applied 1/20 and nothing yet :|
Applied mid-January and also nothing.
Submitted 1/12 and alumni interviewed 2/11. For those that got ding emails who did it come from? I'm thinking maybe I missed it or it went to my spam folder?
Complete since 1/05 and still not a peep - not an interview request, not an email, nothing! Every day I come home and there's no mail, I die a little :(

Received a modest scholarship by e-mail on Monday. (I'm actually in DC right now for ASD today - and it got cancelled due to weather! I flew in from Michigan last night too...bummer. I sent them an e-mail last night but not sure exactly what's going to happen.)

E-mail Admissions re: merit-based scholarships. The financial aid office is only responsible for need-based aid - that's what they told me when I e-mailed them.

I didn't get any info about scholarships until after I emailed them about it. Now I have one.
Are you referring to emailing them in response to their feeler email or just soliciting? I k ew soliciting was always an option but I did not know it was necessary to get any offer...
It's not - most people didn't solicit. But we know that the first wave of scholly consideration emails and scholarship offers have gone out, if they haven't emailed you about a scholarship, and you would not attend without one, you can email to ask about it.
Let me clarify --
A few weeks after I was admitted, I had not heard any info about scholarships. My law school adviser called their office and was told that applicants need to express interest in receiving a merit scholarship to start the process. That's what I did. They got back to me that day saying they would send more info soon.
About a week later I got the email saying I was under consideration (I assume this is the initial scholarship email others are referring to).
I can't say if I would have gotten that intial email anyway - simply no way to know that.

My point is, for those who didn't get that initial email, you may just want to email and ask about scholarships. It's a fair question, especially since they don't have any info on their webite about it.

Edit - this was all through admissions, not the financial aid office

Thanks for the clarification! I still don't know if sending an email is TCR. I'll probably wait till next week! :P

Has anyone, who applied in Jan 2015, hear back a positive admissions decision without an interview? Or is not receiving an interview an indication that you will be rejected?

Yes, I applied at the end of January and was admitted a couple weeks ago without an interview.

Applied early January and was admitted without an interview.

On an unrelated note, who should we be emailing about scholarships? Financial Aid? Admissions?

Admissions handles all the scholarships, and financial aid does the need-based grants and loans.

Preferred waitlisted today. Never got an interview request. Meh.

Just posted this on the waitlist thread but figured it was worth a shot.

Just put on regular waiting list. Do I have a prayer? Is it a soft rejection or do they take students off the regular waitlist?

And I assume I should write a loci?

Also I wasn't asked to do an interview. Should I request one in my loci or send another email asking for one? The only sticking point is that I am abroad so it would have to be on Skype.

Georgetown is my first choice so I am looking for advice. Thanks.

Gahhh just got waitlisted(non-priority). Happy with the prompt decision though. Wasn't expecting to get in LSAT <25% GPA slightly above 75%... Thought maybe my soft would push me over the top but having to pay sticker wasn't going to be a realistic outcome anyway. Good luck to everyone else still awaiting word!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
