How long after you all were admitted did you hear about financial aid?

Well it'd definitely be a real shocker if I got inbluecouch wrote: It's not malicious. That's crazy talk. I bet a lot of us are on the bubble, and they need to take a closer look at those of us left... and that takes time. Some of us will end of being like Virginia Tech and some us will be like Wichita State.
OMG, what if they have us all in some sort of applicant bracket?

I think they should do admissions Charlie Brown spelling bee style.

On LSN the only responses people in that date range have had are dings. The admit closest to that range is edamame, who submitted her app on 2/05. (Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone..)Justicia1776 wrote:Anyone with a mid- or late- March complete date hear anything yet?
*date range I'm talking about is very late Februay onwards

Eli, thank you so much for looking into that - it's given me a sliver of hope as a March submit.Eli wrote:On LSN the only responses people in that date range have had are dings. Those aren't bad options, az, lol. I think there are a few people, very conservatively speaking, that can still get in.az21833 wrote:im just ready for the guillotine. lets get it over with so i can deposit at hls/sls/penn

And az is definitely one of them. I'm with ya though, I just have wanted YLS so badly, for so long, that it's hard to make a choice when there's still that fool's hope I could get a call. But HS are both amazing schools. I'm telling myself that, at least.edamame wrote:Those aren't bad options, az, lol. For realz? How late in March?'carboncopyx wrote:One of my friends threw in a Hail Mary app to Yale in March and got in this past weekend.Justicia1776 wrote:Anyone with a mid- or late- March complete date hear anything yet?
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot - the app deadline was 3/4 (extended from 3/1), so kind of a moot point... wow though, that's good to know.

Every time I come close to accepting that mentality, someone with very close to my numbers or softs gets in and hope springs eternal.az21833 wrote:im just ready for the guillotine. lets get it over with so i can deposit at hls/sls/penn

But we always knew people with our numbers get in, that was never in question. It's the rest of the app that the decision will hinge on. If I give myself an honest assessment, I know that's where I fall short.sabanist wrote:same hereedgeofthenight wrote:Every time I come close to accepting that mentality, someone with very close to my numbers or softs gets in and hope springs eternal.az21833 wrote:im just ready for the guillotine. lets get it over with so i can deposit at hls/sls/penn

I think my K-JD status is going to be my downfall.bernaldiaz wrote: But we always knew people with our numbers get in, that was never in question. It's the rest of the app that the decision will hinge on. If I give myself an honest assessment, I know that's where I fall short.
(and my cheesy POS 250 but let's not talk about that)
It'll be over by the financial aid deadline if it's rigid. My dad hasn't even sniffed his tax forms, so I'm SOL. I can't put into words how frustrating it is to have incredibly irresponsible parents.edamame wrote: Aww, I wish I could give you a hug. I know what it feels like. But remember, it's not over yet.

This got really sad, really quickly! We should all smile. I feel bad now for sounding ungrateful or braggy

Meh, if it fits with the rest of your application, then it probably just comes across as genuine, your voice. My guess is that's why they leave it so open ended...bluecouch wrote:I think mine could have used a little cheese. Mine had to be the worst. I caught a grammatical mistake in it a couple weeks later. I was so burnt out by the time I submitted Yale, I definitely did not put my best foot forward.dnptan wrote:I bet mine was cheesiersabanist wrote: I think my K-JD status is going to be my downfall.
