Sorry for terrifying. It is freaking freezing and when you ask people who live here why they do so, you usually get a laugh and "I don't know", but your experience will be mitigated by the fact that it's only three years. Also keep in mind that I'm a little bitch about the cold and my spirit animal is probably a housecat (I too am known for laying wherever there's warmth - heater, patch of sun...whatever)

I love Michigan and I'm never moving away if I can help it, but you should fly south or to California. Although barring Stanford I think you're stuck in the cold for your law school career.

I feel like the only person in this thread who wants to go to Michigan for the cold, nasty, greyness and five feet of snow a year. But then, I'm in Denver, and winter means skiing here, not interminable rainy sadness.

I thought someone said earlier in the thread that it updates every day whether someone has looked at your file or not. For example my date has been changing every day even though I'm still Incomplete.

Speaking of snow and skiing/snowboarding, did you see this? Mt. Brighton is now owned by Epic/Vail Resorts and is only 30 minutes or so from Ann Arbor.

Edit: Though I am enjoying this 60 degree stretch in late January.

I put on my app yesterday, got a fee waiver via usps, they sent me the whole package. Personalized note plus two brochuers...at a 168/3.9. I keep asking myself why at this late date? Are they having trouble getting the canidates they want? What % of the class have they admitted?

I had a conversation with one of the Admissions officers a few weeks back to discuss my interest in Michigan and whatnot and I asked - they said NO you will NOT be bumped to the back, they'll just add the updated info to your file and it would only cause any sort of delay if the review process has begun for you and anything re-evaluative-worthy comes in (yes that's a word now)

Waiting for some Michigan love...
